dbman992 has to be a certain number of cases they can track down to that specific issue. With so many dealers misdiagnosing the issue there isn’t enough pertaining to EXACTLY what the real problem was. Only reason there hasn’t been a recall yet. Give it more time.

They fixed the problem July 2017, It was a casting issue around the top half where the head meets the block. Any car manufactured after that date won't have the issue, If your engine was made before July thrash the shit out of it to make it pop if it doesn't it never will, ford will replace it with the updated block if it does.

Fact of the matter is that failures happen across the board, buy the car that you love the most based on how it drives and how it suits your needs. If you want to fall asleep at any speed, buy a shitty Golf. Want clinically fast, buy a Civic. Want fun, try an AWD Focus with rear-bias lol.

They will fix the issue, honestly the focus rs failures are prob 10% or less , in reality, although it's a issue, it's not like it's happening to the majority of owners. It seems like it's just a first yr issue where they made significant changes to the 2.3, which resulted in this issue occurring and they're working to fix it.

KoNLaR Haha I do have the back of a 59 year old and have had a couple of mk7 Gti’s, a Mk 4 r32, and have driven golf r’s and S3 Audi’s so I am very familiar with that comparison. I daily my RS and love it. It’s visceral and edgy and I have fun every time I drive it. So for me personally it’s definitely the perfect hot hatch as a daily driver, at least of those available in the US. Is it a bit harsh? Sure, but I knew that going in. Great wrap up on the long term mule!! My car has 18,000 miles and no hg issues yet.

Have you driven an RS? I don't think I have ever read a review of a Porsche 911 Turbo in which the ride was criticised. Well my Focus RS gives a MUCH better ride than my 911. It is MUCH more fun to drive and has FAR better roadholding in the corners than the Porsche. In a different league. Instead of "every video I have seen" go and drive the car and formulate a considered opinion.

Lol people have been taking a dump on this since day one and called it uncomfortable unreliable garbage even before the internet caught whiff of the failures (which are still at a laughable low rate, mine has 40.000 miles at 380WHP without issue). The only time this car was loved was by the press in the first weeks of release like how it happens with almost all new cars that get reviewed with major outlets. But people? Rofl you don't buy a Ford if you want people to like your car, I've now owned 3 Ford Performance cars and love them to death despite all their flaws, but the majority of people will call them shit. You buy fast Ford for fun and excitement of involved driving. If you care about anything else (image, interior quality, ride quality), buy a snoozefest Golf R or a sleep-unducing-FWD-turd like a Type-R or something. Me i'll take this RS including it's so called 'unreliability' and hyperbolic 'godawful ride' all day instead of an uninspired boring driving experience. Power on oversteer in a hothatch, enough said.
