Hello, Thanks for all the compliments! I don't make these commercially. I have thought about it. But, I'm better at building than I am at business. Im located in Northeast Georgia. I am a cabinet maker by trade. Its pretty easy to convert that skill over to camper trailers. Im selling my Teardrop and am building another camper for my wife and I. The coupe you commented on singing, she is my cousin and that's her husband, Both very talented in music. Thanks again for all your kind words. And, thanks for watching and commenting.

I love the look of a SCAMP camper. They seem to have everything you need. However, I love making things myself. I built a Teardrop camper and then the Conversion camper. I really enjoy trying to squeeze every bit of usable space out of a given area. I had a lot more ideas that my mother and dad shot down "we dont need that" comments were common during the build. But, I built it like they wanted. They are extremely happy with it. Its a great little camper for what they use it for (bluegrass festivals). Like I said, I had a ball designing and tinkering with the design and build. Thanks for your comments.

@@gillis122 The amount of detail you put into it really sets it apart here on KZfaq. Such great work! For some, loosing access to that back might be a no go, but that thing would make a fantastic field cool area, fish cleaning area, and on top of all of that, provide some rain shelter. It would be so easy to add a mosquito net around that as well for a nice outdoor area. Just great!

This former Georgia girl now lives in Montana.. The thought of sleeping in a tent with Grizzly Bears in the area keeps me home.. For months now I have watched countless videos of conversions to campers.. You my new friend are the only one to have the vision in my head.. My husband has no desire to build it. He doesn't want to pull a 7 foot wide trailer because we will go off road on public lands, down Rocky roads.. Our tow vehicle will be the Ford Ranger. Will also need to add propane heater not the buddy tho. The option to use a single burner camp stove for coffee in the morning or when the snow is on the ground inside would be awesome.. So.. You ever wanted to visit Montana?. Love the way you built the bed the walk around is perfect for me.. Maybe.. I can order this from you soon.. I have the desire, but not the skills or strength to do the work.. It's excellent trailer build. Thank you..

Hello Gail, And yes I would love to visit Montana. I built the conversion camper for my parents. I understand what your husband is saying about the size. I feel the same way. I built my wife and I a "Teardrop" camper. Its 5x8, has a full queen size bed, AC, TV, stereo and and outdoor kitchen with outdoor TV. I did a video of it also. You can pull the treadrop with just about any vehicle and go just about anywhere. I pull ours with a 2004 Toyota Sequoia. The only drawback is you must go outside to change clothes. Its just for being secure while sleeping. Im thinking about building another camper that is in the middle between the Cargo conversion and the Teardrop. Im thinking a 6x10 all aluminum (for weight) with an outdoor kitchen. Let me know if I can help you guys with your build. Thank again for watching and commenting.

Thanks for the comments. Im in the process of putting a sink on the outside of the camper (video will be coming). I didn't want to put water inside the camper. My parents didn't want solar or battery powered, they are older and won't be doing any boon docking. I wired it for battery power they dont want to use it. I used all led lighting through out. When all the lights are on it only draws about 5 amps total. So solar would be a good idea I think. Im going to build another one, maybe I can use solar on it. Yea its a really good sleeping space and a place to change clothes. My mother loves cooking outside and the kitchen area gives her plenty of space to do that. They are really enjoying the little camper. Thanks for watching and commenting

I used those same hinges on my 5 X 8 woody, this is a very nice build and 10k views is commendable. It makes me want to do a conversion I love it.

Thanks for watching. The cargo conversion was fun. I had a lot more space to design with. The part I disliked the most was the demolition of the original cargo trailer. The manufacturer used thousands of staples and nails my wife and I had to pull out to get down to the frame of the trailer. I think if I did another one I would build the trailer just like I did with the treadrop. It would have taken me more time but would have saved a good bit of money. Also, it would have been plumb and square! The trailer was almost 2 inches out of square.

I think the best thing about this conversion is it shows the love you have for your parents. I wish them many happy years of enjoyment. If you wanted to make a list of the parts you used, like the firetruck hinges on the back awning, the drawer slides, the 150 pound shock absorbers, the porta-potty, etc. it would help those of us who would like to do something similar find the parts. The latches you used for the drawers, the kayak vents etc. I can probably find most of the stuff by looking on the Internet but it would be cool to know the brand name of components maybe where you got them. Thank you very much for taking the time to make a nice video and show us what you did. Most of us probably aren’t craftsman like you are but boy, you sure did a beautiful job! Thank you very much for taking the time to make a nice video and show us what you did.

solarwind907 Thanks for your comment. I didn't think to keep all the information on all the components I used during the build. I should have done that. What I didn't show in the video was all the things I tried that didn't work. I didn't realize I would get this type of response from the video. (but Im glad I did) In the future I will try to include a parts list and cost as I go. Im kinda new to the video stuff and am still learning. But again thanks for the comment and the suggestions. They make perfect sense.
