Just purchased QX55 Essential. You really have to drive this car to realize the CVT is not as bad as it’s made out to be. Everything about this car just feels perfectly placed , and it’s comfortable and commanding to drive. It’s got power where and when I need it. No complaints there. And I like the dual screens (just got out of a vehicle wirh single large screen and this dual set up is superior). I’ve owned and driven many marques over the years from both Germany and Japan and this is one of the most satisfying crossovers I’ve had the pleasure to own.

@Scott, I too own a QX55 and agree with you that the CVT is not as bad as some people have made it out to be. In certain driving conditions, I actually have come to like it. I have a question for you. How do you like the Windshield Wiper Sprayers? I know it seems a bit odd, but mine seem weak. I only get two small V-shaped sprays that barely reach halfway up the windshield. I expect a full spray that would cover the windshield. The rear sprayer is also just a single stream, not a full spray. I know it seems an odd question, but it's something that's really becoming a nuisance on Mountain roads. What is your experience with your wiper sprayers?
@srmtn1

@@islandextreme17 right? I too have found myself actually liking it as it makes the driving experience so smooth. And to be honest I drove my Q60S yesterday and in every day driving I can’t even tell a difference. I think it’s just a thing that you are supposed to hate CVT no matter how well executed it is in the vehicle! Haha. To your wiper washer question, I do not have a similar experience. The spray on mine is robust. Makes me wonder if something isn’t interfering with your line? Or for whatever reason it’s not pumping as it should. Definitely have it checked out. Especially this time of year! You wanna be safe. Thanks for the feedback!!

The cvt is not bad from a driving experience, but it is questionable in terms of reliability. My Murano with the same cvt died at 44k and i traded it in for an RDX after a $6k repair (dealer can only replace the transmission). I do miss the smoothness of the cvt, but the RDX is a heck of a lot more fun 😊

Came here to day the same. I originally wanted a Lexus and had the money set aside deciding to buy one. Test drove it before buying, and hated it. Drove the Acura on a whim and fell in love. I didn't drive the Infinity, but I'm also not a fan of Nissan/Infinity build quality and reliability compared to Honda/Acura or Toyota/Lexus.

Slightly off topic, but of the reviews I’ve watched, I think the presenter in this video is definitely your best. I find the others can get caught up in the specs and features and the videos feel more like showcases, while he consistently strikes a good balance of specs, features, driving impressions, comparisons to other similar vehicles, and so on, so it feels like a proper review. Just my two cents of course.

Best I’ve seen is 23 mpg on long drives of 70 mph and cruise control. My similarly equipped 2019 BMW X4 with 2 liter turbo easily returned 32-33 mpg on the same drive. @@TheLaw_11 A good amount can be concluded when we compare things the reviewer missed further separating these two vehicles in both price and overall complete package. The Acura’s dynamic/sporty driving experience will sadly not be matched (2022 RDX A-Spec Advance). Torque is delivered on demand but at the same time smoothly with the 10 speed automatic in the RDX, you’ll be waiting for the power with a CVT in the Infiniti. Not to mention the RDX comes with a Torque Vectoring Differential and Adaptive Suspension (comfort, normal, sport) to further enhance the driving experience. Which was surprisingly left out in this review. The technology is matched in the Acura, same type of safety features, with birds eye camera, HUD, lane assist features, also high end speaker setup. Moving on to interior, Acura’s interior finishes are unmatched for the top level trim (at $53k) such as the milano leather, aluminum trim and authentic Alcántara suede accents on seats and door panels. So it comes back to the cost. It’s a tough call paying $60k USD for an inferior interior, cvt trans and a typical suspension system versus $53k for a luxurious sporty ride with the complete package.

@@jonnys_honda QX55 has 280ib feet of torque, same as the RDX. Whether the torque is in a 10 speed Acura or 1 speed CVT transmissions, the bottom line they're both automatic transmissions( you're not getting any cool points for having 10 speed, it's still an automatic tranny ). I can guarantee you the Acura RDX is no faster than a QX55, quarter mile, half mile etc. You want to talk interior quality ? QX55 is soft touch real leather almost everywhere in the car, not leatherette you find in the RDX . Sound quality, INFINITI uses Bose system. Last time I checked, Bose delivers exceptional sound quality. QX55 has auto leveling and adaptive / cornering lights the RDX doesn't have ( reviewer failed to mention this), which is something Acura doesn't even offer, makes a huge difference. QX55 also has auto high beam assist. You mention safety systems such as lane assist, 360 camera etc...INFINITI and QX55 models have that. Maybe you forgot that INFINITI was actually the first mainstream company to have the 360 camera in their vehicle in 2007 💯 fact and first mainstream car company have a backup camera in their car in 2003 💯 fact. Also the safety features such as lane keep assist, backup collision prevention were actually pioneered by INFINITI another fact 💯. INFINITI will always have an edge over Acura. Even the Q50 Redsport, though I digress has 400 HP, 50 more HP than the Acura TLX Type S...just pointing this out to remind you when it comes to real performance sedans, INFINITI will always have the edge over Acura .
