I’m a Navy brat… A boat is any watergoing vessel. A ship is a large oceanfaring watercraft (multiple sails or engines). A boat is small enough to be carried on a ship and a ship is large enough to carry a smaller vessel- or as my dad says “you can put a boat on a ship but you can’t put a ship on a boat.” 😊 Fair winds and following seas!

I had cruise ships 4 times and love them. I had never on Celebrity cruises before, I will love it. I had seen pilot boat many times on cruise ships. Last February 2022, I cruise ship from Miami, Florida. I love watch your video on cruise New year. Thank you for share us.

Just a note about pilots on ship's from what i understand from the cruises that I've been on the pilot usually provides guidance to the captain and the bridge crew. There are only two places in the world where they actually take over the ship and that's in the Suzie canal and the Panama canal otherwise the crew is still in charge of the vessel and can if they feel that the safety of the vessel and the people on board requires them to take over, i actually saw that happen on a show on the discovery Channel about cruise ships.

All ships are boats, but not all boats are ships! 😁 All water going vessels are considered boats. However only large water going vessels with multiple propulsion systems, and or multiple sails are classified as ships. Happy sails!😊👍

Hi Ryan's mom Sam here.... I live on the west coast of Scotland on the Isle of Arran and in the Spring and Summer months we get cruise ship sailing past most days ( The come from Greenock) and this one the Celebrity Silhouette goes past all the time so now i know what it's like on board 😁👍

I've been on at least 4 cruises and I never knew that about the small boat and separate pilot to drive the ship in and out of the port. Thanks for the info. Intrusive thoughts are obsessive thoughts that continuously come to your mind- to the point where u can't think at all- it feels like someone is sitting in the back of your brain.
