Time to do the aquascaping! I used CaribSea's LifeRock Shapes and I think it worked out great for this tank! Let me know what you guys think about it!

Just picked up 30 pounds of this from some taking down there reef for $30 cad so I’m pretty happy with that

How do I get this ready for my tank? Do I need to clean. Or do I just drop it in my tank

I didn’t rinse mine. Other than some parts that broke off and caused a little dust, they were all clean and ready to go.

Anyone has experience with the life rock “display box” version from amazon? Do they loose color or leech any toxics?

I looked that up. It still says Carib sea life rock so it should be the same as what I have. The life rock is completely reef safe. Had mine for a little over a year and it looks great. Just get more color added to it from algae and coralline algae.

Been great! Still looks great. Still haven’t really done much coral, but hoping to start covering it soon!

Are you sure it's manmade rock? Caribsea claims they mine it.

Pretty sure it is. They may mine the materials and then mold it, but it’s definitely not just plucked from the ocean.

i believe your thinking of "CaribSea South Seas Base Rock " and not the "Life Rock" which is entirely man made from an aragonite mixture

So liferock is artificial live rock in other words no real live organism on it ? sorry noob.lol

Yeah it’s artificial rock with nothing on it. You can still get real rock that is just dry, but the liferock is actually artificial.
