Күн бұрынhi guys, i feel like i say this a lot, but this week has been a lot of me feeling great and me feeling not so great. I really just need to work on setting my expectations better so that I don't let myself down so often but REGARDLESS it was a hot but beautiful week in Seoul and I am happy to share a piece of it with you :) I've also been running into more and more of you guys on the street here in Korea and it literally makes my entire day and the day after and the day after when you say hey so THANK YOU! Pls know I am definitely more of an awkward human than you are so never feel weird about coming up to me LOL. By the time this is posted I'll be on my way to Japan so there won't be a vlog on Wednesday but I am excited to be back with another video next week! See you then and thank you for everything always.

Okay, I don't know why I feel the need to write you this mini essay, but here we go. We watch your content because we enjoy not only Seoul but you and your life! There are tons of travel vlogs out there where I could see very cinematic shots of fancy shops and Korean life. What you bring to this channel is your own story and individuality. I love seeing your videos and feeling like a friend is hanging out, updating me on her life which just also happens to be somewhere gorgeous. Secondly, don't feel apologetic for your content. Notice I didn't say "stop apologizing". I said don't feel sorry! I think we all feel lucky for the content you deliver. If you aren't living up to your own expectations, that's one thing - but know that your audience loves what you put out. That's why we're here week after week. The only pressure to deliver is the pressure you're putting on you, so be kind to yourself. 💖 And thirdly, I want to say that your channel is so inspiring to me that it's made me want to start my own. I've definitely felt before like my life is too boring for a vlog, but the enjoyment I get out of just watching you go get coffee at a cafe completely changed my mind. You helped me realize that if content is genuine and the creator is enjoying the creation, then what's there to be afraid of? What more do I need? When I do start my channel, it'll be under a completely different username (I want to be sure it's pretty anonymous in terms of my real name), but know that it's because of the content you make that it's even happening for me at all. I hope that helps you to feel better. Crossing my fingers for you that next week is a much better week. 🙌🏻

cari cakes I couldn’t describe it better. Nonetheless, you have made me gain my confidence back. I have watched how you enjoy the little things and how much happiness you get from them. You shared your own story and it made me realize that there is nothing wrong with my life. And there is no reason I should be like these fancy people that we see online nonstop! I started loving my life when I saw there is someone who enjoys the same things as I do and doesn’t feel guilty about it. Please keep it up and never change for others. 💕

THIS! I relate so much to your last paragraph! I'm a content creator for my city. I work for the city I live in and my job is to attend city events and make videos about said events. I LOVE LOVE to watch your videos to get inspiration and she just put it into words for me! You REALLY have helped me realize that if my content is genuine my video quality is increased! I also love your attention to details too! Like the shadows the leaves make or the cute things you notice around town. It's very honest and I'm in love! Thank you! Cari💕 we obviously have no idea what bigger and better visions you have for your channel but every single video you put out we always look forward to and finish watching it in the loveliest mood. You offer such different vibes and color schemes (색감) please don’t worry about your vids having the same content because even if you take us to a cafe again it’s such a new and prettier experience for those of us who are not there. The way you show your perspective and storytelling is always so phenomenal as well! You’re the center of it all, not just pretty and exciting things in Seoul🌿☺️ Life before big planned events seems stagnant in comparison to those great plans you have ahead, ONLY in comparison. Nothing more, nothing less than usual but relatively to what you have coming up it will definitely make you feel like it’s stagnant (we’re being fooled😭😭 constantly there myself) hope you overcome it all eventually🥳💜 and please by all means do put your personal life ahead of everything~ Look forward to everything coming up, it’s good to know that you’re not the type of person to fake things for the camera so please enjoy it all very naturally and make us part of your journey when you feel like it!

from someone who also had a horrible week, nothing is always just one thing forever, it's a constant wave of ever changing. "life in seoul" includes everything; the adventures, the travels, the cafes, the movies, and the basic stuff like cleaning your house, doing laundry, and washing the dishes because those are life things no matter how entertaining or boring they seem. i appreciate your traveling vlogs but i also appreciate your more toned down videos of just going to a cafe, walking around a bit, and going home because i can relate to those more. life and content don't always need to be exciting, enjoy the rainy days 💕✨

i feel a lot more motivated to clean/cook/read/go outside/take care of myself after i watch your vlogs so this one was PERFECT. also loved the cleaning bit, the soundtrack was fabulous. i think i can relate to the feeling overwhelmed and burnt out at the same time. i'm getting ready to graduate and go to california (san diego!!!!!), so i have periods of, like, mania and restlessness. being excited is exhausting! but time doesn't move backward and we love you and your content and support you no matter how you're feeling

Thank you for your little chats. The fact that you open up when life is less than perfect. With social media and youtube it's nice to take a break and be like "We're all people with bad days and good days and good moments in bad days and bad moments in good days" and whenever you open up a discussion about more negative feelings, it feels like theres now a whole community of people all going "oh thank god yea". it feels friendly and chill. You show us so much more than cafes and you've created a family on here of nice people just going through life and making happy moments.

I totally get you cari. I told you about my CIEE fail as a teacher and my life feels so awful now. It feels like NOTHING will change and I will be stuck in Germany....but girl...keep your head up. You have a wonderful husband, live in one of the most developed countries, you are gorgeous, are able to travel, inspire thousands of people and you have a job. There's no better thing. I hope you don't feel too bad. There is a plan for all of us ♡♡♡

Didn’t watch until now, but you literally ALWAYS say things I need to hear and I’m glad that someone else gets the “I’m in a mood, and I’m going to feel that way so let it naturally subside” and also I agree about feeling like you’re in a funk when you know there’s great opportunities coming up! Hi Cari! I randomly came across your channel about two weeks ago and you quickly became one of my favorite content creators, if not my fave! Your videos are always so calming yet make me want to get up and go explore, and I kept finding myself being like "ahh!! she likes that too?! woah I feel like that too!!" and all of that good stuff haha A funny coincidence I realized after binging your old content (was definitely having a wompity womp week - thank you for saving my sanity as I was stuck home sick) is that we have the same three signs (our sun and ascending our swapped) and we're both INFJs! I feel like I have been getting those strange ups and downs but I don’t really have anything upcoming to excite me just the long burn of uni. It’s completely valid to feel this way. Your AC is not loud and you’re doing a brilliant job with these videos! We couldn’t be any prouder right now! You are making great content that is really enjoyable, no matter what you do and your personality always brightens up my day. I remember seeing that “say no to kids, drugs” tee when I was back there and I pointed it out to my sister and we laughed so hard together in the freezing Hongdae at the time.

So many of us have this romanticized vision of other cities we don’t live in, when the reality is, emotions are going to fluctuate no matter where you live, and you capture this so perfectly. All your videos are great content, no matter where you are or what your up to. Nobody is feeling great every second of every day. It's good that you are actually honest about it and not editing an unrealistic world for us to see. It makes everyone feel good about their own realities and not have unrealistic expectations of themselves. ok i might be late but still: as far as i understand you feel like a normal day with you visiting a cafe is boring. I personally really enjoy it, it's just another day and all these cafés look so comfy and the music fits and all these random shots of the sky and the trees and all the items in a store are so nice to watch. idk I couldn't really mention many other vloggers that upload videos like this that feel so genuine(as you said, when you smile you are indeed happy). also you look beautiful and your voice is really nice. not to be weird but there are certain people in this world that have a good/comfortable voice to listen to and you're one of them. upload what you're fine with but please remember that even your "boring" videos are still interesting to watch

I just randomly came across your channel and at first, I wasn't really planning to stay, but here I am, after watching almost every from your videos. Your aesthetic just grabbed my heart, and now this. I totally feel you. I'm on the 2nd year of Uni, trying to stay productive, have good grades, get a part-time job to be able to later apply for exchange, meet with friends and I'm just getting tired of my life and my plans. Honestly, it has been a couple of rough MONTHS for me ever since I moved to a different country. hey Cari, I loved this vlog! I just wanna say I feel you. As a growing artist/illustrator posting on social media I can relate on the point of "am I making effort to grow or try or even change things?". I always try to think like that cheesy saying that says "some flowers don't bloom all year long". But at the same time, I try to put things out there for consistency, then taking a week off or experimenting. So I think I'm giving nice new leafs and shading them, and that can be pretty too (: But I really came to tell you that I can see a difference since you started part-timing. Lots new videos, that made me really happy to see you not worrying so much bc of managing time and working (even with the hectic part you said~ I see that you're real and life happens, so it's not a plastic vlog/video every time), and also because no matter what you did - from being in pretty places to cleaning your bathroom - I think what makes all nice is your point of view, not what's cute. Sometimes what's cute is you talking about a nice coffee shop owner even if it's rainy, humid or polluted. Or trying to explain what a pattern of a shirt reminds you of. Or talking for a long time about how a sad book made you feel that month. For sure some things are more "entertaining" but I always enjoy the sincerity the most. And I think most people here agree (:

it pains me a little,, seeing you worrying so much about your content but i think i understand a few parts of it. I’ve read something about an artist before, an artist working hard on a painting is going to look at his art every day, the artist will see the beauty about his painting but also the imperfections it holds and it can happen that he’s going to focus on them too much because, of course.. he wants the painting to be beautiful. A person seeing this painting for the first time will never see all those imperfect things the artist is seeing because the person won’t even search for that, not like the artist. I kinda find this situation familiar, your working on your videos and searching for mistakes for the video to be good but we as your subscribers would never see your videos, the way your seeing them. I genuinely find your videos so unique and different from the most channels wich is what makes me love your content even more, they hold so many different precious things and I’m really grateful for your honesty. Your doing a really great job and i also think that the content always changes naturally depending on the season soo it never really gets boring if that makes sense. I’m sorry this got way too long .__.

Your fans love your videos and even if you feel they’re too simple or mundane honestly they are lovely and we love them. Even if your videos aren’t what you consider super interesting your viewers do. I think your awesome you go to cafes and travel by yourself. I also think your sit down chats are part of your appeal. I think your videos are calming and although it’s cool that your in Korea I enjoy your presence/personality more than the location.

In all honesty I initially watched you because I was interested in your Seoul videos. But not anymore. I love all your videos, you've put effort and time into capturing moments and accompanying it with the most perfect music that it's hard to not watch your videos till the end. You just making videos constantly alone is an amazing feat. Show us your world, your views, and your take on Seoul or anywhere in the world. It's amazing to watch it. Dips and dark times will come but they will definitely go if you make them go away (trust me I've learnt it the hard way), and just forget the negativity. My week was the same up and down kind of week! The thing that frustrates me a lot is that I have so many things to do (some of them are the ones that I want to do, some of them I have to do), but it was pouring all the week and I ended doing NOTHING! Oh no wait, I sewed a skirt (it’s not perfect). My work routine will start in September and until this i really have to do all these things😭😭😭 Cari, I (we) really love your content, and your personality. You shouldn’t worry about that. ❤️

I'm one of those 'i got u girl' dear cari! and actually, (i can feel you rolling your eyes to this but again) i think most of us prefer and are happy about the fact that your videos shows the reality of the much awed life in seoul korea aaannddd im telling you this, the realistic aesthetics of your vids are better than those 'too filtered' ones that are usually shown. What funny timing I've felt so low just the past two days and it doesn't feel like it's about much. I'm a teacher and it's the summer holidays which feel so so long. There are also some changes that are happening in life as well. I was meant to meet a friend for drinks Friday night in central London and it was raining and the tourists were everywhere driving me nuts and the first place we went to didn't work and then I ended up going to to this overpriced not that nice Chinese restaurant with my boyfriend and everything just seemed crappy. It's funny how we can just let things pile up especially if we're not in a great mood to begin with. Something we need to wipe the slate clean I think, trying to do that this weekend by doing a proper tidy of my room. Good luck to you too xx

I follow you with all my heart and interest but i rarely comment, but i have to because i watch you for the fact that i can relate to you at many levels, don’t ever feel like you’re rumbling for too long, it’s just your way of connecting and releasing your thoughts. I totally understand you, I’m on the same thing with my partner lately, he works and is always busy but on the other side I’m not “busy” so I’ve been putting off some moments just so that i can dedicate that time for him when he’s free, as you said the only time we see together is when we go to sleep. You’re content is unique, it’s calm and it represents you and i like that! Just keep doing you, of course there are low and high states during our day, week or month, and i think it’s beautiful how that mess of moods we have make us human and stable. i personally would love another video as the one where you narrated / read out your own written poem / prosa!! so whenever you feel like your videos are kinda similar ( which is nice we stay for your editing and story telling and music taste and you and not reaaally for the most extravagant things to do in korea ) you can always put one of those in!!! 💜💜💜

They are how an average person who has the liberty and time to enjoy these little trips and stuff would do. And that’s the Seoul or anything else life actually is! I love that. I watch vlogs of you going to places as a release as I barely have the time to do it in my city. So thank you for this refreshing take! And don’t fret giving us ‘exciting content’ because your content is wholesome and special. And on days that you don’t feel so good don’t vlog! Or else KZfaq will go from enjoyable to stressful.
