Great video Logan, Please I have questions, 1- in hi tech tank doing many water changes during week is inpractical , so is their alternative solution? 2- how to feed shrimp food without getting planaria? Thanks

I had a question about water hardness Logan. My tds is 630ppm very hard! Ph is 6.6 Gh was like 20 degrees! Anyways I keep all kinds of fish and plants with not many issues. I recently set up a new tank to try and breed killifish. Haven’t stocked it yet I’ve been doing water changes and adding more distilled than tap water to bring down the tds. It’s down to 467ppm so far I’ve been doing it slowly. If I can maintain this is it a safe way to have softer water for breeding fish? I have an RO unit but it’s slower than a turtle unfortunately. Basically will I have to remineralize if I’m mixing tap water and distilled?

Hey Nick, unless you were using pure RO, you'll never have to remineralize with your hard water. The bigger challenge will be getting your TDS and GH down with more purified water. You'll have to look into the specific parameters that Killifish need to successfully breed which may require cutting your tap water with additional RO water. Have you looked into an RO booster pump?

Since you run co2 with caridinas, do you shut off the co2 at night or let it run 24/7? If you do shut it off, won't that cause parameter swings like ph shoots up

It shuts off 2 hrs before lights turn off. Paramaters don't swing wildly. Everything is gradual. I run my CO2 a little lighter in my shrimp tanks and ensure there is lots of oxygen and gas exchange
