@@parii3634 i have milkweed plants and the eggs are tiny white eggs, they are normally on the bottom of the milkweed plant but just search a few plants and you should find some.

2:05 the monarch butterfly in a building will be 100 percent lost the butterfly needs the sun for navigation because the antennas are compass best to raise monarch butterflies outside and no I’m not monopolizing I do research with monarchs properly

Do you answer questions? I need help! I think I have one 2nd instar, one 4th instar and one 5th instar. Last night my 5th instar climbed off the milkweed and onto the wall of our enclosure. He’s upside down but not hanging and not j-hanging. He’s been there almost 24 hours and hasn’t moved but he’s still alive. His tentacles are still rigid and he’s shriveling up. He’s not as plump and big as he was. Now my 4th instar just did the same thing today. He went up on the wall, is upside down and barely moving. Also my 2nd instar is still on the plant but hasn’t eaten or moved all day. Are they all dying? What could be going on? I need help! They aren’t dead but also aren’t moving and left their plants. I also have 3 one day old hatchlings and I’m scared they’re going to die too if I don’t figure out what’s going on. 😢

What needed up happening? I’m having similar issue. I’m thinking it’s supply of milkweed with pesticide potentially

do you have put any holes to breathe on the top of the box ?
@SerendipityRoad
@SerendipityRoad 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, not only to breath, but also for circulation, so there isn't any bacterial growth. But for monarchs to migrate they need to be outside and in a mesh container from the end of July. They need wind, sun etc. as environmental cues. There are videos on that topic. For butterflies not migrating such environmental cues are not necessary. But you have to read up on how and in what stage the individual species overwinters. For example a species overwintering in the caterpillar form needs to be outside when it's getting cold so it does not pupate or become a butterfly, because in these stages it would not survive the winter. Others overwinter when pupated or as butterflies.
