@@jenmurphy5133 It's hard to find good techno these days. There are still several decent players. However, the BPM has been lowered massively and even legendary techno DJ's such as Carl Cox are normally playing to crowds to suit an agenda and often an audience in which many are not devoted 'tech heads' like back in the day. I know many DJ's who cannot play the kind of style and speed in which they'd like to, as they have to stick to what the promoters of the night/event tell them to stick to, as it's their job and income at the end of the day. The best way to hear them in their true form is when you privately hire them so they don't have to play to the prescribed sound which passes for today.

@@johnnormal1422 maybe they are now, but back then, almost 20 years ago, those festivals were pretty unique. Creamfields wasn't the only dance festival back then you know? and it wasn't all that great in the beginning stages either. As I'm belgian, let's talk about Tomorrowland… Tomorrowland nowadays is rubbish compared to the beginning years. It used to be partying and having a good time, now it is, like you said, all about flexing. Tomorrowland and all the old skool electronic festivals in the early 2000's were about having fun and having a good time dancing, not like the shit we get now. I stopped going to TL years ago, not the same vibe it was before! God i miss those days… As I'm typing this, its hitting me that I'm getting old (40years old atm to give you an idea)

Daniel Ellis Nice! But yeah, I'm not aware of the situation in England, can just speak about parties in the Netherlands.You were in Bloemendaal beach at Luminosty though and many people weren't on xtc there? I was at a party at Woodstock at Bloemendaal beach just a few weeks ago, Voltt, and was actually surprised to see how many people were on something, really noticed because I was sober. To be fair though, Luminosity and Voltt attract very different crowds, as the music is very different from each other. Woodstock also attracts a very different crowd than Vroeger and Fuel.I never go to trance parties, just techno and tech house.
@spiritdancer16998 жыл бұрын
inepthabit Yes there were many on the xtc at luminosity although i was totally blasted on it i could still tell. Techno these days doesn't seem much like the old techno that i was into-correct me if i'm wrong but techno seems pretty soft these days, any examples of current techno you could give me?? I don't think i like tech house but i don't follow it or know the artists. Parties in the netherlands are great-i love your country.

this techno is still around but most techno producers have lowered the bpm a tad and djs follow step. why: because real techno like this, although amazing, its loyal fans are a minority. it is too speedy for the majority of party people who are loyal to the various house subgenres which consistently vibe well in big city clubs worldwide. thats why cox, richie hawtin, g velvet etc all play tech house and minimal techno. a Hardcore techno fan can handle or enjoy a tech house or progressive long set but not the other way around.. theyd have a panic attack.
