Imagine what it must have been when George and the Beatles first met their hero (in 1964 ?)...they were on a rollercoaster ride but must have been in awe of this guy who had in effect "gone nowhere" after the initial success. 5 years back they were poor kids in Liverpool scrambling to get their hands on his records !

I literally cried my eyes out watching this because there were no more worlds to conquer. This is perfect. Lot’s going on. First, George Harrison’s eyes are connected with those of Carl Perkins as if to ask “Father, did I do well?” as he plays lead guitar. Eric Clapton, perhaps the greatest at his craft of all time, simply admiring Perkins. Rosanne Cash, daughter of Johnny, singing background. Rings Star on the tambourine. Love this!

Watch "Mean Woman Blues" with Clapton and Carl Perkins, Eric looked and played enthusiastic with Carl Perkins and Carl was amazed with Eric's performance. I understand the flaws of 70's and 80's Eric Clapton but also realize he was probably drunk here and he didn't get totally clean and sober until November of 1987. Like Stevie Ray Vaughan after he got sober, he and Clapton were at their peak after they got clean and sober!! In short, Clapton is god!!!

Carl was on his way to stardom when he had a aweful wreck that killed his brother and changed his life forever.Elvis recorded/stole blue suede shoes while he was laid up in the hospital recovering from that wreck.His career never recovered the momentum it had prior to it.The rest they say is history.

But he thought with Carl he had sumthin which he did. Carl could sing, play and write his own songs. Elvis to be honest sang and was the most charismatic act on the planet. Still Sam thought he could get behind Carl. Nuthin was gonna replace the King but Carl was going to be a huge star too. Then the wreck. Carl became an alky. John R. who suggested the title Blue Suede Shoes saw the fix Carl was in, invited him to join his band and brought Carl back. John always called Carl "Rock King!!"

For real the truth has been spoken. At 15 yrs old the Beatles themselves knew George Harrison was the real deal. When asked for an audition he promply mounted a tour bus and schooled Lennon and McCartney on how to play lead guitar on a summer night in 1958. Made them believers so fast they hired a fifteen year old ON THE SPOT. 15 YEARS OLD!!! Lennon only knew banjo chords and Macca couldnt play lead guitar.......Yet. George could, with authority. Your hired!!!

I thought Eric C was almost too cool. Dave Edmonds was pure adrenalin. Great memory there, even with an overload of regular progression Rock songs. Everybody could play every one after one verse. Love it.

George Harrison is having a blast! I have yet to see him express that much joy in any of his guitar solos with the Beatles. Its obvious he's playing here, what made him wanna be a Rock Star! Carl and George, jammin' just like this, on the other side.

Eric's finishing riff at the end of the song "Glad all over" is at the end of the video at 7:18-7:28 surprised everyone. It was perfect. Eric's wife just left him so he was hurting during this performance

Harrison looks like a kid in a candy store. It's so cool to see someone who was, unarguably, one of the most influential musicians EVER, look up to their idol. Just goes to show how important Carl Perkins was. I've read all of the Beatles say, "if it weren't for Carl Perkins, there would have never been the Beatles." Thank God for Perkins and thank the Good Lord for the Beatles...

George bought the movement a MANSION, and financed printing of the beautiful Vedic scriptures.) WHAT GENTLEMEN. GEORGE IS SO MISSED. WHAT a great but short life. The first 2 songs belong to Elvis Presley's first real single. A-side That's All Right Mama, B-side Blue Moon of Kentucky. Unique records that changed Blues, Country and R&B forever. Carl Perkins knows very well where to start the medley.
