The filmmaking legend turned actor Werner Herzog said a similar thing, said he gets sent hundreds of roles that he turns down but Mando's script made him say yes, even though he claims to have never seen a single Star Wars film.

Nothing is made in a vaccum. There's no 100% purely agenda-less movie that exists, whether that agenda be political, financial, etc. If anyone has a problem with that then maybe they should quit any form of pop culture entertainment and take up birdwatching.

What I like about how they wote Greef Karga is that they made him feel like he was a natural character who feels like he's a part of this universe set in a galaxy far far away. Even decades later, the character will age nicely along with Lando Calrissian and Mace Windu as minority characters unlike how Kathleen Kennedy and her pathetic excuse of writers wrote Finn and essentially just made him a token black guy because "Hey, they needed a black guy." This is what I like about Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni: They write characters that naturally feel progressive without it being blunt, insulting and regressive like how Kathleen Kennedy and her team of morons write characters played minority actors/actresses.

I just wish this mandalorian hype was so worth it and not just baby Yoda Meme's and omg he is cute. The show even spends so much time focusing on baby Yoda. It's like making a show called Sith Warriors and the show spends time focussing on a baby Ewok. There was no preaching or agendas in mandalorian but goodness me it needs a better story and characters and less of baby Yoda..... (Probably in the minority and going to get stoned for saying this. But oh well, I have the high ground)

Also, no agenda except having the main female character be a hulk of a woman with no discernable female quality that 99 % of women can't really emphasize with. I watched the show with my mother and sisters. When they complained that there were no females in the show, I pointed to this character. They just told me : "Yeah... That doesn't count."

I feel like the most disappointing part about The Mandalorian is the clumsy 'racism' treatment that the droids get from Mando (among others). I think the use of terms such as 'your kind' and so on are a bit outdated and feel awkward now. We all understand the analogy of the Cantina and the Western saloon and 'we don't serve your kind' made sense then but it's not '77 any more and this can be done better without falling back on those old cliches.
