Just gotta’ say it: “I LOVE Carlene Carter”! Some may think she benifitted from fortunate circumstances - that she “walked into” her recording career. While her family name certainly didn’t hurt, she’s always seemed to be a genuine, talented, sort & (I know, this has nothin’ to do with her music) she’s cute as all get out! I’m so glad that she continues to thrive. She’s always been a hard worker & a bit of an inspiration to boot. Great work, Carlene. Kudos! 👍👎🎶💋

Being a Massachusetts boy, I wasn’t exposed to much Carlene when I was younger. I had to wait ‘til I was almost outta’ high school to get in on her work. What a gyp! She’s such a sweet lady. I loved her from the moment I 1st heard/saw her! (Great comment!) 👍😊

Mike listen to Dave Edmunds catalog he’s amazing,he can do it all! C&W Rockabilly the Phil Specter wall of Sound. Plus an amazing producer as well. He’s very close to Jeff Lynne and was a great friend to George Harrison. All around good guy and very underrated talent!

But the Carter Family were still big beyond those years so Carlene probably figured she would do better being known as a Carter. And after all she would always be a member of the wonderful Carter Family.

@crapple009 And this year, she was in switzerland for a concert, but her singing and voice is way appart from her 1990's quality of singing. Its kind of sad, to see how much she changed, because her 1990's "I fell in love" and her 1993's "Littel love letters" albums are some of my alltime favorites.

This beautiful song was written by Texan songwriter Richard Dobson and also recorded by Johnny Cash !

Johnny recorded it with Carlene's mother June Carter. Carlene's father was rockabilly star Carl Smith. Richard J. Dobson died last December in Switzerland, where he had made his home for many years.

@crapple009 As far, as I know, you are right. From midnineties untilaproximatly 2007 were no albums from her. But there were in this time drugproblems and she drove a stolen car... She got 18 months suspended sentence... If you want to see, what I mean, compare the two Interviews: "carlene carter-swedish interview" and "carlene carter 2009 Interview. Its not primary her looks (there are many years between the two Interviews), its more her behavior and way to move.
