He's currently the Chairman and CEO of France-based Renault, and of Japan-based Nissan.
In 2003 Fortune identified him as one of the 10 most powerful people in business outside the U.S.
He's Carlos Ghosn and here are his Top 10 Rules for Success.

1. Don't listen to the #littleman
He completed his secondary school studies in Lebanon, at the Jesuit school Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour.
2. Have discipline
He graduated with university engineering degrees from the École Polytechnique and the École des Mines de Paris.
3. Create hit products
After graduation he spent 18 years at Michelin, Europe's largest tire maker.
4. Take risks
When he was 30 years old, he was appointed COO of Michelin’s South American operations.
5. Be flexible
In 1996, the ailing French auto manufacturer Renault recruited Ghosn as Executive Vice President.
6. Know how to execute
His radical restructuring of Renault successfully returned the company to profitability in 1997.
7. Learn from diversity
While maintaining his roles at Renault, he joined Nissan.
8. Work for yourself
He was the fourth non-Japanese person to lead a Japanese automaker.
9. Make the right decisions
He led the Renault-Nissan Alliance into the mass-market zero-emission electric car market in a major way.
10. Be committed
He saved Nissan from its near bankruptcy in 1999, and he earned the nickname "Mr. Fix It".

I was mesmerized from his last news conference in Lebanon. I live in Japan. Honest story his situation is really horrible. He once formulated leadership by learning and accepting cultural boundaries. Making business in Japan somehow easy but we must understand unspoken conditions that we’re just foreigners. Rolling back to his lectures and talks, my my my, I felt more and more motivated. Says “experience is the best teacher”, now I learned a lot of things from your experiences. Foreigners which whom doing business in Japan, most probably will think more harder for our own goods at the end.

I'm a French entrepreneur. First of all your videos are inspiring french dude like me in Paris. But the funniest part is : Outside France Ghosn is seen as an CEO and someone who saved many companies . In France, most people only see him with a negative perspective : as a bad chairman with a lot of bad decision...Sometimes we should be more positive French people about ours leaders, that's why it's very important for me to see videos from american entrepreneur like you Evan

Good morning Maryland. WOW. This man has saved 2 companies. He must be superman. I bought 3 Nissan and I am still driving a Nissan. What I learned most valuable here is decisions are made to change reality, so don't make them fast because they will affect execution. Also, don't make decision for the sake of making decision. Hi Evan, As I told you once, I'm french and I have to admit that I know about nothing about Carlos Ghosn management methods. So it was really interested for me to learn all those things about him. For me, he said something very important about management in Asia, that's the time management to take decisions. He might have learned that from the japanese maybe. I'm manager in China, and that's something important to know when working with Chinese people. You have to give the good information at the good time to make people keep on moving. You can not make things moving without that time management. Maybe as a westerner who have the whole plan of what you want the company to do in your head before doing the first step. But in Asia, you first move, and then correct the direction continuously while moving, so you have the flexibility to integrate new elements into your plan while operating.

Me too. I did not follow what happened with him in past few months but his speech and way of thinking are truly inspirational! I believe Japan was a big set up and I am very happy to see he escaped Japan... Other than that - powerful man has no meaning if this set up could be done (powerful should be - untouchable). In case mr. Carlos is guilty - I believe he took his prize for saving Nissan but Nissan could send a warning within companies. Nissan was harsh and there are other, more human ways to remind somebody to stop. This way, Nissan created circus by revealing everything in public and all 3 companies are now on the edge of extinction... Not wise move for Japan...

#10 Be committed - Yes...we see this over and over in the corporate world and we all probably know a person or two who wants you to be more committed to their cause than they are... And it's so annoying. No one should be more committed to "my thing" than me!

There's a problem, the ones who love badass cars is a minority, most of the people want something to take you from point a to point b which it sucks. Carlos Gohsn knew what the market demands and he executed acording to the demands.
