Rio Ferdinand talks about Carlos Tevez
Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he respected Carlos Tevez despite his former team-mate leaving the Red Devils for rivals Manchester City. United fans were not happy when one of their key players left to join the side dubbed “noisy neighbours” by Alex Ferguson, however Ferdinand respected him after meeting with the Argentinian.

Tevez scoring against my team for you lot to send us down was genuinely one of the worst moments of my early life, that day and losing my childhood pet are the only two times I remember crying for anything that wasn’t pain as a kid, yet tevez is still one of my favourite players ever, I despise him yet I can’t help but love watching him play.

Carlos was mustard.. built different. For us united fans we know carlos was special. He kept up with rooney and ronaldo at their man utd peak... when ronaldo and rooney were arguably the best players in the world.. it was carlos tevez that glued the front line together by being the work horse and bagsman

Tevez had a gym at home and worked every single day with a trainer, training at the club was just warmup for him. He was a beast.

Made sense. If Tevez would have trained as he played, with the same level of intensity, he would have retired at 23. I saw him live several times, never saw a player who ran and pressed so much during 90 minutes. Julian Alvarez reminds me of him, same work rate.

Until you realize their midfield and backline were in shambles for years, and several of those players occupied the same areas of the pitch. And now you know why they couldn't win anything despite having that fantastic front line and the best player ever in the squad.

We lacked a good coach but there were good players in midfield and defense like cambiaso,zaneti,samuel,macherano,garay,zabaleta,gago,pastore,rojo all played for top clubs like madrd united city juve inter Barcelona.

The problems start when Berb comes in and you are getting half the game time. Can’t use games to get you fit now and you refuse to train right. Not ideal and I loved to watch Tevez play.

Maybe it does. There may be some teams where the focus is on match day, and they teach youngsters how to manage their energy levels. Obviously it's just conjecture, but it could be. And Ferdinand of all people would have an idea if that was the case.
