Ай бұрынPokeRogue is a free browser-based pokemon fangame! It is a roguelite where you attempt to beat 200 pokemon battles. Each time you lose, you have to start over from the beginning, however you keep any pokemon you catch to use on your next runs. You also can acquire unique egg moves, items, and improved IVs on each new run. You can play it at pokerogue.net -- it is MEGA addicting beware XDDD

To all the people saying Nintendo will come after this game: No. Pokemon brand management is handled by The Pokemon Company, and there's very little precedent for Pokemon fangames being taken down (Pixelmon being the only case I can think of but that came back anyway with no further issue). Even if Pokerogue continues to grow in popularity, I can't see anything happening to it so long as it isn't making money.

it just makes me sad that big n doesn't work with fan games and instead crushes any creative stuff. It wouldn't be so bad if there was something official like this.

As far as i know you can make stuff like this as long as you code everything from the ground up and arent making any profit from it. As long as you do that there isnt anything a big corporation can do. No laws are being broken. Its just a passion progect at that point. The poke-gaming community is so great for this. So many great games to enjoy. Totally free and better than official stuff.

Making fan games, either through rom-hacking or through RPG Maker, has been very popular, so there's a lot of pixel artists that have been making art of every Pokemon for anyone to use for their fan games. Even Gen 3 rom-hacks are being updated to be able to include newer Pokemons and mechanics, which is absolutely amazing.

How is this a roguelite? This is just a battle simulator, there's no movement/exploration aspect.
