Neat to see. Very similar construction style as my wife's home in Mexico. Raw materials dropped off, family builds the house themselves. Most of the floors done in tile. Very nice.

I am so glad to see you both protecting your knees. I kneeled on a concrete floor at work to unplug some wires. My knee was killing me afterwards and got worse from meniscus.

That looks really good, called the Versailles pattern, a real bugger to get right if you do not keep your mind on the job, I made a sheet up and as I layed a tile my wife ticked it off, the problem was the small square tiles were 3mm thinner, so when I put extra adhesive to bring them level it squirted up through the holes, the pattern is well worth the effort though, nice to see you did it the proper way, laying from the centre line, rare to see that in France! Great effort, the only thing I'd say is use an acrylic primer or SBR instead of PVA as PVA only dries so any water ingress can pop your tiles off and keep your lines going the same direction when raking out your adhesive so they collapse properly and give you good coverage :)

Excellent work. Looks freakin awesome. I just wish that somewhere between the concrete, screed and tile, that you would have put some in-floor heating mat. Electric or some hydronic tubing. There's nothing like radiant floor heating. Great job nonetheless.

Really enjoying these videos. I do wish there was some kind of order to watch them in like numbering rather than having to search through all the videos for the next step. Like the concrete floor in the barn I wonder what happened to that. Was the who,e barn done or what. I couldn’t find anything after the concrete ring lintel either.

Basic rule for concrete, it needs 1 week/ 1cm to dry for surfacing, several months totally.

Because of my age and my experiences and my disabilities now can I please ask you to get a good set of knee pads! I thought I never needed pads and did not realize what I was doing to the structure of my knees and it’s natural cushioning . You do not realize how many times I watch you kneeling on rough and hard surfaces just like myself. I wish I had purchased those dumb looking pads back then and save my knees so I could kneel or even walk up or down stairs. !

I’ve laid countless floors over the years, but would seriously recommend wired underfloor heating before tiling, the way the cost of gas is going it makes sense, is far cheaper to install than piped and extremely efficient to run not to mention no need to service. I love what you guys do but seeing a tiled floor going down on a perfect screed without exploiting underfloor wired heating is I think a wasted opportunity as I sit here in my kitchen, rad less with toasty feet on my tiles. Equally who am I to say, each to their own.

Yeah this is not a good method of installing tile... at min you should have your trowel marks running vertical all in the same direct so you can collapse the ridges and you need to back butter these large stone tiles. Your coverage is weak bro... but decent job on the layout...
