Carlton Pearson
After college at the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma he served for 15 years on its Board of Regents, and two years as Associate Evangelist of The Oral Roberts Association, (ORA).
In 1977, Pearson founded Higher Dimensions Ministries (now New Dimensions ), in Tulsa, which grew to over 5,000.
Bishop Pearson was consecrated to the office of Bishop in 1996 thru a College of Bishops headed by Bishop Charles E Blake, presently the Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God In Christ, the denomination he was raised in and through whom he was ordained in 1971.
In 1993, Carlton married the former Gina Marie Gauthier who is a professional Life Coach and Yoga teacher.
More recently, he has felt a passion to proclaim the "Gospel Of Inclusion" and has written a widely acclaimed book by that name, published by Simon and Schuster. It confronts the Christian church's exclusivism as being inconsistent, in spirit with the teachings of Jesus.
Pearson's frank and often controversial take on a number of different subjects has earned him appearances on television programs such as NBC and MSNBC's Dateline, ABC's Nightline, 20/20, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley, The Edge with Paula Zahn and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, The Monique Show on BET, and a number of other television, radio and print media outlets. Bishop Pearson was recognized as one of America's 10 Most Influential Black Ministers by Gospel Today and Belief.net. He has received several honorary doctoral degrees.
Bishop Pearson recently served as the Interim Senior Minister at Christ Universal Temple in Chicago. He and Gina now host New Dimensions of Chicago, building a local multi-cultural and radically Inclusive spiritual community that emphasizes expanded consciousness and Self Actualization. His newest book, God Is Not A Christian, Nor A Jew, Muslim, Hindu...God Dwells With Us, In Us, Around Us, As Us was published by Simon and Schuster and released in the spring of 2010.

Looking at the numbers in this Church, not many church-goers. I too heard you from the Robcast, then bought your book and I find nothing wrong with your messages, in fact they are excellent. Your message will reach many more than just those who go to churches. Well done for standing against the powerful flow against you for standing up for what you discovered was wrong! That's exactly what I feel about this awakening movement. Most people don't wanna let go of there religious traditions because it's uncomfortable and can be very lonely. It's sad because the people I've developed close relationships in church have nothing to do with me anymore.

+Cody Becht You confuse religion with relationship. We become adopted sons(girls - daughters) through faith in the Messiah; Jesus the Son of God. This is a two way experience, we relate to to the Father and he relates to us.. either directly by his Spirit or through his word, which his Spirit brings to life It's not about buildings which you probably call church. But the ecclesia of God, a people being sanctified and made holy fit for service to the Father. There is no enlightenment here, only deception, intentional or not, only C. P. knows his motivation. The Spirit of God is not found here!

So do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law with no consequences ? Guaranteed that's a trick from satan... if you believe there are no punishments for a disobedient life style...very dangerous ! JESUS reserved judgement for himself - he didn't say there would be no judgement ! What about the "White Thrown" judgement from scripture where it clearly says "there will be great weeping and gnashing of teeth" You don't think that's gonna take place ?...That means you don't reap what you sow ...... you no in your heart that there are consequences to living foul ! If you believe there are consequences ,- then who and or what determines the results...

Not certain of your ambiguous remarks here. But, who are you to proclaim where the Spirit of GOD is found? HS (Higher Self, Holy Spirit is everywhere within all and of all who will open. No exceptions!

You know, Brother Carlton and I have very similar roots, (Trinitarian) Pentecostal, I love the way he phrases that. The Church Of God In Christ, right here in the Bay Area, where my mother brought him to my attention, at the Ephesian COGIC, in Berkeley, pastored by the late Bishop E.E. Cleveland. I know he knew my late pastor better than I, & his brother, my beloved brother in Christ, Edwin Hawkins. Having those same roots feels like home to me. That's how it was when I met Edwin & Walter, when we met, it just felt like home. That's what it feels like with Carlton. We knew the same praises, same songs, same style of worship. I believe this is the end of the age, but not in the same way. people are starting to realize that they have been deceived by religion and mans teaching of how to get to God. No one needs a pastor or church to get close to they're creator.

If any man or an angel from heaven Come preaching unto you another gospel which you have not heard Paul preached let him be accursed. it doesn't matter how well the doctrine sounds and how eloquent you can word it. if it doesn't line up with the word of God it is error. and it is an accursed Doctrine

Before understanding can happen, people need to define what they mean by the word of God: Do you mean God the creator of all life; or do you mean God of a certain group of people ie God of the Jews, ie God of the Romans. One is based on universal truth while one is based on the concept of having the right to conquer other people. If you base your belief on Paul aka Saul, who was part Jewish but a Roman citizen who persecuted Christians, but 40 years after Jesus died he claimed he had a change of heart, and then wrote most of the letters to churches that were canonized by the Roman Catholic church into the New Testament as being inspired by God: Then the question has to be whose God inspired it? The bible does contain great moral, spiritual and wise teachings, but if you have actually read it you will realize that it also contains many errors and inaccuracies. A wise man will weigh them both and separate the wheat from the tares. Just because someone says their words are inspired by God doesn't make it true.

Kevin Windom If any scripture does not line up with Love then it is not God and should be accursed and cast out. Love is the only filter that should discern scripture. Anything else is a spirit of fear.

Petyeo1 Just who do we think we are that we can think we can become enemies of God? Do you really know who God is? Do you know who who you really are? It would do more good if we stop overlaying God with these petty human traits. We say God's thoughts and ways are higher than humanity; yet we ascribe silly fear - based, jealous, wrathful angry human characteristics to God. Ask yourself: "what's high in these feeble traits?" I tell you, I humbly recognise the fact that I still don't know God well myself (just a little something more than most of the general Christians) but you have got God 95%"wrong! And the Bible is not His inerrant word. Words are not the only purveyor of His truths...these can be and are definitely being interpreted, reinterpreted and misinterpreted into justifying individual beliefs as well as great and atrocious actions. God is smarter than this: He already knew that written words has to be a very last resort but your experience is even grander. However, your experience of God comes from the way your mind is set about God. Your thoughts. What you believe. Be careful of how you think and what you believe.. Given that we are all striving to be as like God as we possibly can be, if your God is angry, wrathful and jealous, this is what you will experience and reinforce your thoughts. Now youcare on a loop....until you are ready to get off that loop (free will and all) However, when you see God as LOVE...the greatest guidelines of them all...unconditional love...this is what you will experience. Then you will know what it means to "set the captive free". Ask God who He is. Say you want to know but believe your questions. Ask God with sincerety, honesty with a humble heart.....which is saying "God I don't know if what I know is true....please tell me....I am willing (use of my own free will which you gave to me as a soul) to listen." But be discerning of the answer because it doesn't always come the way you expect it. And you will be confounded by the response! For God (through his gift of free will and your ability to choose) cannot...will not tell you His truths until you stop telling Him yours.

Permit me to add thatcl when God answers you, you will also under the justice of God and that it is nothing like we think as even God's justice (our consequences for sins) is underlined with LOVE. .the greatest commandment of them all. Everyone of Gods universal laws which governs the souls of man, is underlined by Love.

Listening to what Carlton is saying makes me think he's being deliberately deceptive... The man is highly intelligent and knows that the harshness of the law and GOD's relationship with man under the old testament was to prove and expose satan to be the liar that he is! That man could never be like or equal to GOD based on his own efforts... Galatians states that the law was just a school master whose purpose was to expose sin... after Jesus GOD relates to man under grace.. a complete contrast to the old covenant

Jesus through His death burial and resurrection removed the wrath of God from us who believe that He is Lord because of sin, Adam fall in the Garden and we must follows Christ not man. And at the same time He Jesus destroyed the works of the Devil, sickness, disease and death. We do not have to fear God when we accept His message of salvation that is in Jesus who gave us the Holy Spirit who reveals the truth of Christ to us. The Holy Spirit points to Christ and fills us with power to stand against evil and the lies that evil speaks. We are saved from Hell's torment and the works of Satan. God punish sin, and He sent Jesus to free us from the practice of sin living in sin without feeling conviction. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins our wrong way of living. This is what Hebrews says about Jesus, Hebrews 1:8-12 (KJV) 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

Jesus came to reveal The Father... He is the image of the invisible. Jesus is the radiance of the Fathers glory and the exact represention of his being. C. P is obviously ignorant of what the bible he keeps quoting from tells us about Jesus. The crowds would flock around him to hear him speak because of His charisma, there was something about him.. hardly the person presented here. Mr Pearson, the reason why you feel 'safe' with God now is because you have made your own image of God in the likeness of yourself.
