The second hole was a fantastic one to watch the three of you play. I will be replaying in my foggy mind Carly's lovely play and wonderful approach shot to the pin. What a chip shot! So close to the pin. Pete and Rick's play will be forgotten as the fog rolls up and dissipates into the rolling foothills of my mind in Las Vegas.... For those of you who do not know Las Vegas, there ain't no rolling hills for the nonexistent fog to roll up on too. The sun bakes us and the rain teases us here in lovely Las Vegas.

Pete's wonderful hillside shot on 3rd Hole was marvelous. You are my mentor Pete!! I do this all the time on the hillsides of Las Vegas golf courses. Only I end up in rocks and thorny brush with slithering critters not happy about disturbing them.

Beautiful approach to the 2nd carly very pure golf shot

Interesting hole flags, and how they are handled. In the US, any time a golf course uses flags with the Stars & Stripes (holidays, just hole #18, etc.), the greenkeeper cuts an *additional* hole just off the green, where the flag is inserted, until the hole is finished. Upon completion of the hole, flag is removed from the "extra" hole and placed back where it belongs. The flag is never permitted to touch the ground. You also see this at PGA TOUR events where US military servicemen/servicewomen are assigned to care for the flag while competitors putt.
