Did you notice that the people Cletus goes after are all named after the original 12 disciples and he numbered the victims up to the number 12 as well? Matthew, Phillip, Nathaniel, etc…. Recreating a NEW church from the old? Is Cletus reliving the bible and choosing these people to feel more godlike? ✌🏻

This was an interesting direction to go, and it was setup to go this direction by years past. The crowd that never stops crying about these kind of events do not really get the X-Men at all. Any other superhero for that matter. The X-Men fight for a world that hates and fears them. That's pretty relevant for any marginalized community. And for everyone who loves to go to the old, "That's not how it was! Claremont would never disgrace the X-Men in such a way! Raaahhhhh!" Well, guess again. I read about Claremont's desired direction with Mystique and Destiny and there you go. Writers at Marvel are doing what Claremont wanted to do in the 80's. I find no problem with critiquing the specifics on how the story is told or ways it could've been done better. But spare me the it shouldn't of been done cause it hurts my feelings nonsense. And the, "Well the old guard would've never done it." Nah. The old guard wanted to just weren't allowed to. Take care and peace everyone.

Cletus Carnage dichotomy has become so confusing. Carnage falls back to earth, dies. But still sort of survives as we see his intact body due to carnage sacrificing itself to protect him. The cult of knull (led by scorn) introduces a piece of grendel to Cletus's body to connect him to knull and bring the carnage symbiote back which creates dark carnage. At some point during the absolute carnage story Cletus somehow has died as his body is depicted as basically being just a skeleton in the symbiote for some reason when he was clearly intact when it was in the biohazard pod thing, but Cletus's mind of course is still there presumably. The climax of that story has eddie brock chop Carnage/Cletus in half and reabsorb the venom symbiote but with carnage symbiote along side it. Whatever happened to Cletus's remain is never clarified or mentioned. Carnage manages to separate himself from eddie during the venom island story and possess a shark then some pirate and then eventually a politicians son. This then results in Carnage absorbing iron man's extremis modified dragon symbiote armour. At some point after this Carnage and Cletus (who is somehow still around) separate with carnage shoving him off into the extrembiote, this then results in Cletus bonding with a house and randomly gaining minor reality warping powers inside the building. Carnage then sets off on a plan to travel the multiverse. During this however carnage bonds a piece of himself on a detective, and said piece somehow still contains Cletus's consciousness but its a separate one to the house bound one. When forging the all blood spear, this Cletus minded piece of carnage rejoins the rest of the carnage symbiote. The detective is a host for a short while, but returns to earth with a small bit of it left inside him. But presumably Cletus free as he is unaware that he still has some inside him. And here in this story we get the carnage symbiote recreating a full flesh and blood body of Cletus but without the memories of Cletus as he had to give them to him and then he needs to use the internet to recatch up on things, so this presumably isn't just a physical incarnation of the Cletus that was in the detective's mind when he was trying to stop carnage which has either been destroyed by carnage or its just dormant inside the piece that is still inside the detective but a brand new version of him.
