Select members of the Berlin Philharmonic woodwind and brass sections led two days of master classes focusing on orchestral repertoire and audition preparation. Participating young artists attended panel discussions with the master class leaders and heard the Berlin Philharmonic in performance, led by Sir Simon Rattle, at Carnegie Hall.

The musicians were current students or recent graduates of conservatories and universities across the country.

Interesting observations, thanks. Very enjoyable. Great clear ringing centered sound Stefan. Pablo although playing well, sounds muffled without a ring through my speakers, but probably playing into trouser mute mostly accounts for it.

At 3:04 Stefan puts his bell down as if to imitate the student while playing it incorrectly. Then he puts it up to his usual hight when demonstrating the correct way to play it.

"the first beet needs to have more stress" - sir, despite your great playing, that is simply not true. Should one play under that premise and 100% of the melodies we know would be wrecked

Martim Tavares 1SquidBoy is correct, I am just adding onto what he said. In 3/4 time, the first beat should be getting the most emphasis. Think of a waltz; oom pa pa, oom pa pa. The first beat naturally gets more emphasis.
