My first ever cruise was on that ship, the Imagination! That ship will always be special to me!

Oh... another of my children... I built-out, delivered each of the 8 Fantasy-Class from Helsinki’s MASA-YARD. Seeing the green corrugated steel takes me back to the 90’s. I was there. I walked them as they were being built. Sailed them across thru the Baltic. Down the North Sea into the Channel. Always a stop in Brixham. For wine and an exchange of personnel. Then across the North Atlantic to towards the USA. NY, Philly, Boston, Norfolk, Miami... etc. It kinda hurts. I know the steel is extremely valuable. But still............. my personal children.

I have spent more than eleven years on cruise ships as a casino dealer. Imagination was my very first ship. My heart is broken :(

The sad part about this there is nothing wrong with the ships that go there.

i sailed on this for my honeymoon in Nov.2005, we stayed in V-17 which is visible in this video in the beginning. It was a nice ship, the decor was insanely tacky (like others in the Carnival fleet) and the cruise was a good time. We've done 5 now on Carnival and 1 Disney. (imagination, glory, miracle, splendor, valor)

I must admit it's very saddening to see Imagination scrapped, as this was the ship I first cruised on!

Sad, we sailed on this ship in 2000 out of Miami. My wife at the time won a bingo ticket and we had the penthouse suite. Best cruise we ever had on this ship.

If I’m not mistaken the Elation and Paradise were the last two of the Fantasy line ; I sailed on this ship on ‘98 ; it was beautiful!

That was my first ship back in 2008, when I started working as a cruise ship photographer. It was nice back then.

This was my first cruise in 1996. How sad to see it just hit the Fantasy like that.

I did the inaugural crossing on the Imagination. I met my partner Harry on my first cruise contract on the Fantasy. All just fabulous memories now!

My wife and I were on the last cruise cruise of this beautiful ship. March 12th - 15th out of Long Beach, CA. Benjamin was the Cruse Director. Wonderful design with all of social areas located together. The lack of balconies did her in, but still great for short 3/4 day cruises. She’ll be missed. BTW we has some luck at the casino that cruise and probably hit the last jackpot as well. Fond farewell .....

I rode the Imagination in 1996 (less than a year when she entered service) and in 2000. I have a soft spot for this ship...

This was the ship we took my parents on for their 50th anniversary in 2005. Sort of sad it’s scrap now!

I remember taking a cruise on the Imagination the week of Christmas 2019. Crazy to think that I didn't know it at the time, but I was one of the last cruises to cruise that ship before its end :(

My last cruise was on this ship, just a year ago. It is sad to see it and her sister ship go to the scrape yard. I always preferred sailing on the smaller ships because they are less crowed and you don't have to wait in long lines.

I don't get it, these can be floating hospitals, shelters, temporary housing during disasters, etc.

While you watch that, just think about the initial construction cost of these ships; the operating costs; the relatively small price paid by the breaking yard....and think "all that money plus the profits to the cruise line owners came out of the pockets of the passengers". Believe me, they aren't suffering.

My first was on the Fantasy in 2015 out of Charleston. That ship had the best food of any of the 5 I’ve been on. Also...how did the crew get off the ship??? lol

I see the comments being 3 years old, For curiosity I looked up the imagination to see what it was doing now and found this. Sad it was the one and only cruise My wife and I took in 1998. Miami, Cozumel, Cayman Islands with 70 other friends.. Sad it's scrap now.. Time marches on.

It would be nice if the scrap owners would take the play equipment out and set it up for the children so they can have a fun place to play perhaps there lives would suck a little bit less

At first, I was curious what is the criteria for a ship to be scrapped, then I saw the others close up and realized how small they are.

So sad. My first Cruise was in Imagination
