Somehow, I cannot believe I have not had the pleasure of hearing this lovely singer. Tomorrow I will look up all I can find about her because I do like this voice a lot.She is singing this with very lovely sensitivity, and clarity. BRAVA! Malena! And, Thank you very much YT!.

My 6 year old daughter's vocal instructor recommended this as my daughter's next song. When I heard my daughter sing it for the first time with her, I froze. The room lit up. The sounds of an orchestra sprang out of nowhere to accompany her little voice. My heart bled.

Mmmm. First learned this nearly ten years ago, and it's still among my repertoire. You really just can't go wrong with this song. It's a simple concept that can be as decorated as you'd like it to be. Perfect for the aspiring vocalist and the professional as well. What an incredible piece of work.

There are so few people who seem to do complete justice to these audition-esque style songs. Some people over sing, some people add too much vibrato, and yet others butcher the language. Just like "monkeygirlila" says, her voice is angelic! I had to listen to the song three times to make sure I heard it right. I did.

En utube hay muchas versiones HORRENDAS". En fin. Encontré esta y me pareció encantadora; pero sí me costó trabajo encontrar una así :S

As far as I kno, the father of the Gospel music, Thomas A. Dorsey also began his music career with classical music and from this roots and the blues, he created later the style of Gospel. So, I think, you can find God, His creativity and beauty in this piece of music, too, it is not boring but wonderful. Listening to just one type of music all the time.. now that is boring. God is never :D.

Love to have vote on your preferences on this superb aria . . . I adore Bartoli, love the pure sound of Giordani, & even tho' I'm a Baritone much prefer the sublime sounds of the contralto to say Pavarotti's verson. And this wonderful Woman Ernman is so expressive. Not sure about Baker & Butt tho'. Bless youtube for allowing us the opportunity to explore all these options.
