After 5 years, this is still one of the best Harp music available on KZfaq.

That is beautiful, go raibh míle maith agat. He was an impoverished blind itinerant entertainer/composer at a time when Ireland had been laid waste by puritanical, land-hungry adventurers; the whole social system that supported such artists had been destroyed just before his birth. Carolan did not consider himself a mere traditional Irish composer, he saw himself in the ranks of the greats, Handel, Vivaldi, JS Bach......maybe in different circumstances it could have been so.

Beautiful. A song much beloved by Rory Gallagher, legendary Irish musician and played at his memorial by Máire Ní Chathasaigh.

Beautiful arrangement ...articulate and your timing is immaculate ...Carolan's farewell must have been complex as evidenced by this beautifully idiosyncratic piece ...you have done it justice by playing it in the spirit that he wrote it.

Gorgeous interpretation of an immensely important and powerful piece of harp music. Thank you Ms. Taaffe and Ms. Cuthbert for your contribution to making this world more beautiful, and reminding us of the grace and majesty of music

The most ethereal and moving interpretation of the itinerant harper's final tune I have ever heard.

Absolutely beautiful rendition of this tune. I can just picture O'Carolan composing this on his death bed. Hope to play my harp as wonderful as you do. I am learning this tune right now from a Lead Sheet, and am having a tad bit of difficulty with the counter-melody, but should be able to nail it soon....Please post more videos, as your playing is above and beyond....Blessings, Slan, Gloria

Same here! That's why I use these as study videos to get a feel for technique. Otherwise, I'd be eaten up by jealousy, lol!😭

Stunning arrangement and performance of music I just discovered this morning here on KZfaq. I listened to several other versions. Yours is by far the most musical and carries the most emotion. I feel in your playing a true connection with O'Carolan.

My family, until the Great Betrayal by my wayward kin and the subsequent confiscations when the Treaty of Limerick was abandoned were patrons of traditional filid and Harpists, had been since at least the time when their Tuath moved into Munster and subjugated the Desi, who'd collaborated with Danes. I congratulate Ciara: tá se go an han mhaith! And, we continue to support wherever we are.
