Today on Carolina Diggers we are checking out the detecting ability in an area we never hit before. We used the Minelab Vanquish 540 to cherry pick different targets and then went behind the 540 with the MTXE to see if it was able to identify those targets as either being good or bad. Boy did the MTXE do a GREAT job. It actually found coins the 540 did not.

I bouone recently. I found 2 or 3 cans, a piece of a copper rod, a penny, dime, and quarter. Also had a couple phantom signals.

They do a REALLY great job on iron discrimination.

Ive been out twice with mine since i bought it last week. 2nd time was down the beach. Im not fussed on it especially down the beach but ill keep with it

I feel that nearly every target you detect with the MTXE has to have 5 or 6 passes before you determine if you should dig. Numbers seem all over the place as well... Perhaps a new battery or the MT-XR will perform better on US soil..

The one I was using here was number 5 out of 9 prototype. So it was a detector in progress. However now. That detector is a lot better now than it was then. The MTXE is a really good Detector for the money. I actually love the fact that the MTXE actually has a 2 tone mode.
