It's definitely a cultural thing. I am Hispanic and our families do everything together. It's sometimes chaotic but I wouldn't have it any other way. It all depends on how you're raised as well. Caroline was raised differently so she doesn't get it.

Both of you are just wonderful together! Sergio - keep calling your mother. I used to call my mom every day to check on her (she was elderly) and keep her spirits up as she was also missing her children. I've lost both parents and my brother in the past few years so treasure family while you can. My husband is more like Caroline and how she relates to her family and I think it's how they were brought up. Trust me - there is no right or wrong but I love how you appreciate the differences. However, the shoes.........that was priceless! I just stumbled upon this video. I've never been so trigger while laughing at the same time. I love their banter you can tell how much love there is between them. I do have to say it ok to have different traditions and ways to go about this with each culture. My grandmother always taught me to be respectful and kind to others who do things from us. It is ok.

I so concur with the cold british culture. I lived there for 2 years and neighbors were nice saying Hiya, or you all right? yet thats were it was left. No further detailed chat whatsoever. I think in a lot of Spanish speaking cultures we're very close to our parents, I always say that very western families don't even know each other. Although that's not true of all families but it is a slight cultural difference that's noticeable.
