Hi Carolyn, I work at the I-10 rest area in Slidell, la. I believe that you'd be coming through on your way back west from Alabama. I'm not sure where you are right now as I know that your videos are posted AFTER you move on from an area. (For safety and privacy, of course) BUT, if you are cruising through Louisiana on I-10 coming from Mississippi, stop off and see me. That goes for your followers. Stop by and I'll hook you up with whatever freebies that we have for you!

Ive been trying to get to the RTR for several years. In 18 I desided i couldnt afford to drive down in my class A, 7 mpg was to expensive, I'm on SS. So the next year I was. In the hospital. In 20 I sold my classA and baught a 2009 chevy box truck, and I have been trying to get it built out. With health problems and a broken foot and lack of money its going real slow. Little by little I am getting some of the things I think I need. But another year goes by. I still have the dream and I will get there sooner or lator.

This video couldn't be more timely for me! I've been saying all year that i am going to the next R.T.R. unless I am dead or in the hospital. 2023 has been a "lost year" for me; I'm calling this trip a "Spiritual Pilgrimage" to to reset my journey through this life. Hope to see all of you there in Quartzsite! "Hey! Ho! Let's Go ! !"

I’ve been to Quartzsite for three years in a row. I just left there two weeks ago. The one thing you didn’t mention is all the places to explore rocks. It’s the rock capital of the world! In January, there are several rock and gem shows, and there is Gem World, on Main Street where you can get so much stuff it will blow your mind. You will see a lot of stuff there at wholesale prices that you will pay double for in other areas. If you are a “rock hound”, you will love Quartzsite. And I personally like Patty’s Propane a lot better than the Pit Stop. They are super professional at Patty’s and really nice people.

Actually I want to mention that the two stores you are talking about are very good with supplying what I need, I use the Roadrunner for all my vegetables' and fruit. I like Coyote Fresh for my meat, much better this year and better than Walmart or safeway and or Albertsons, I find the quality of meat to be very good. So just to give a heads up those two stores are doing great. The Big Market is doing hardware stuff now so you can find almost everything you might need in a pinch. I have been coming to Quartzsite sense 1976. My mother lived here snowbirding and bought property. So now I bought a place last year and am full time. I find it fun and people are very friendly.

This will be the third time I will be going to Q. I love parking out at Hi Jolly BLM, and Laposa South. I also have parked at the LTVA. it is $40 for 14 days. I also go to the RV Pit stop. in 2023 it cost $16 to dump and fill up with good water. I don't remember what propane cost but it was reasonable. Hope to see you there in Jan 2024

I've been full time living and traveling for 9+ years. The first 41/2 years I was in a Ford E350 van. I blew the engine in my van and spent 3 months on my daughter's sofa. Then I bought a 1976 Class C and have been in that for 5 years. I used to follow Bob Wells and wanted to go to the RTR since the second or third year. It never worked out and after a while it just got too big. I lost interest and never went. I was honestly not aware there was more than the RTR going on there. I might reconsider for 2025. For 2024 I plan to complete the only item on my bucket list. I'm going to visit and stay at least one night in all 50 states. I only have two left. Maine and Vermont. I'll be heading to those two states next year.

I have an idea . . . one would think that in this day and age, RV's could be set up to use the same propane tanks that outdoor gas grills use, where you just swap out the tanks like deposit bottles instead of actually having to refill a permanently installed tank, given how difficult it is to find a place with licensed / qualified staff anymore. I see those steel cages full of propane tanks in front of most convenience stores / gas stations and many grocery stores even, (like, $19.99 with exchange - $54.99 without exchange) or something like that, of course the price fluctuates. I wonder why that never took off.

I am an introvert but open up a lot if it's the right group. I found it hard to actually make any connections with anybody. I didn't really find many people or groups of people all that open and welcoming, at least not how it's sometimes portrayed. I was hoping to find more groups who were more open to just inviting people "in" and see how it goes. Not that I wouldn't go again, I will.

Hating to be someone correcting you, but for the benefit of you and your viewers, some western lands are managed by the U.S. Forest Service. In areas where there is a lot of USFS land we just say "Forest Service." Please, it is not Forestry Service (a too often repeated error.) I hope this helps.---- I've watched and appreciated many of your videos but have seldom left a comment. This is a good time to do it. I love the Bi-vert! That is absolutely me!😂 I went to Ehrenberg more than Quartzsite, but I did attend the RTR in 2018. My 1st year of vanlife. We actually met there, probably Ehrenberg, actually. We basically walked our dogs together, your Capone, and my Unka Hound. I'm sure they're hanging out in doggie heaven. I didn't last for the entire RTR. It was way too peoplee for me! It was a time in my life when I needed to be alone far more than I needed socialization! I highly recommend it to new RVers or vanlifers, nomads. I met amazing humans and learned that I had a tribe any time I wanted or needed one, of like-minded humans. So many amazing places to visit, and boondock! And great weather! # Quartzsite!

Are any of the places you mentioned to camp, NOT dog friendly?

Good info - thank you. As you know, I've been watching for years but (if all goes well) this will be my first in person visit. As a very tiny patron of HOWA, I registered for the WRTR but do not know if I'll stay for the big one. Depends on some stuff at home. I'm really hopeful to meet you and Brian/Kelly from Adventure Van Man and maybe Scott from Static Campervan - don't know if they are going - I watched you first of course. Happy Tuesday.

👍🏻😁 January will be my first full year of bus life. I spent last January in the FL Keys where my late husband and I lived for 20 years. This year I am headed to Quartzite for the first time. A Rite of Passage. 🤷🏼‍♀️😆 I have Skooliepaloosa, WRTR, RTR, & The Big Tent Event on my calendar. Will I go again after this year 🤷🏼‍♀️. But have to do it once at least. I appreciate the info about additional groups, especially the women groups. I have a few friends I’m joining, but a larger community would be nice, don’t want to “coat-tail” anyone. I’m. Bi-Vert also, so a bit of alone time is necessary, but I do feel safer camped somewhat in range of friendlys. (sp?)

Hi, I lived in Key Largo for a while. We started a non profit for marine clean up post Irma. Now the road is home. We are in A 30 foot skoolie, The Huckleberry.

We started RVing at the same time. :) I've always enjoyed your videos. I bought some land so maybe I won't be out here too much longer. I've enjoyed it though. I'm in Quartzsite for my third season. Used to travel more. Slowing down! Thanks for all the good info!!
