I've brought my latest diary forward due to lake closures and lockdown but just when plans had started to come together the rods got packed away. However I did get to explore the carps natural diet, something that certainly helped me work out why they were visiting certain areas of the lake as soon as they woke up after a cold, wet winter which I'm sure will make some interesting viewing. I even captured a few early spring carp for the cameras along the way. Stay Safe guys and I hope you enjoy the diary.

Mark mate, Awesome videos! Same quality as BBC Country File, but with more interesting content. Keep em coming as really top stuff: Lake, home garage, fish... and hopefully more factory. Gonna change bait this year (do most years) and looking to jump onto the Baitworks ship. If the bait has the same quality and knowledge in the videos it's gotta be top stuff.

And as mark said the fish are only getting bigger and they definitely aren’t going anywhere. Just can’t wait to get back out their.... Yes paul the old egg white is like glue so its a great edge to get that paste to stick to the cork ball mate.

Glad you enjoyed mate, we use a few different cameras, lenses and go pros but the main camera is a Cannon 6d mk11. All the best.

Richard Minty I’ve been wanting to fish them years I’m also local. Trust me mate proper Cotswold lakes!! But it’s dead mans shoes trying to get on them lol. No one wants to leave as they no they probably won’t ever get back on. Lol. I think they are also invitation tickets anyway or you have to be recommended 😢

I done a test a few days ago on a local lake to me. There were about 9 carp up to 20ish ... I fed 3 bags of corn just to watch them feed.. Litrealy 3 Carp eat the lot in about 3 mins. That tells me it's pretty impossible to over feed on corn, your thoughts Mark

corn has a high percentage of water mate so yes they eat loads of that, plus in the right conditions Carp will gorge on food that can be easily digested and corn passes through them very easily.
