Podcast on the "how to talk over someone" rig

Really enjoyed these podcasts great insight into chods. Just a bit of constructive criticism instead of asking questions when the guest is halfway though explaining something maybe wait until he has finished because quite often they never go back to explaining what they was originally on about before being asked another question. Apart from that great stuff 👍🏼

Excellent video. Another great one from Gardner. Matt Eaton is definitely in “chodfather” territory. I’ve inadvertently been doing a similar thing using very light leads but using a very looping cast to get the lead and leader to drop in vertically then I’ll let the line sink itself back to the rod. However, I’ll be trying Matt’s approach as I think it has more finesse to it.

Never used a chod. But the lake ive just started fishing is like a forest so much weed i spent a few wks just walking it and leading around.lots of shallow weed areas. The chod got to be the way to go. What a great vid.

Some good information here. Been using chod rigs a lot the past few months. Not really been confident on them due to not catching on them. Maybe it was a quiet spell with the weather change. But i wasn't confident at all due to the chod going so close to the lead if I hooked one! Anyway, today I caught my first chod rig carp, and it was well hooked right in the scissors!! Thanks for the tip of extending the helicopter so the lead is away from the chod, it definitely gave me more confidence with the rig! Great all round podcast 👏🏻

Nice video been using my chods for years very similar but I splice a ring on about 6 inch away instead of a sweivel to stop the lead knocking. One thing you didn't ask was how much he curves his chods 😊but really enjoyed it. Chods for nods call me Mr nod 😂😂😂

Great insight from a real thinker. Would like to have heard how he stops his top bead coming off the lead core and onto mainline on the cast though.

Hi Matt said that he wouldn't use the chod while feeding particles, could I just ask why please? I'm pretty new to all out proper carp fishing so I'm trying to gather knowledge for any given situation 😎

Inspiring demo, thanks. I'm curious about your knot for the swivel attachment. Are you suggesting a simple overhand knot is strong enough not to slip? My tests do feel less tight than a blood knot.

I've been using the extra length on the lead for ages. I haven't lost a fish on choddies since. Great topic and great video but the host keeps interrupting the bloke!

thanks for making the video. very interesting. I don't use the chod much so hope this isn't a daft question. what are the advantages of the chod leader extension as opposed to just moving the bottom bead 12 inches up the leader?

Great insight for chod fishing but let the man speak. The presenter asks a question then soon as Matt starts talking he has to talk over him so annoying

So after the lead has hit the bottom, the line is slack. Is anything done to sink the line? If not are you always fishing a line as heavy as possible?

Great stuff, but interviewer needs to just let Matt flow, because I’m missing out on bits because he is being talked over. It’s like a competition over who knows the most down the pub. Sometimes it’s like “mate shut up a second”. Bit of insecurity going on with the host I think 🙄

9 minutes in and I turned off, there's absolutely no need to cast out and then wave your rod around like a wally so you can 'lay your leader out' just cushion the drop of the lead like every one else does, the chod will be at the top bead when you cast out and the force pushes it back and also when it hits the water the bait pops ups, hence why you use a pop up lol

it would be good to show the rig to the camera and not to the fellow in front of you
