Refreshing to hear a lad who talks sense, doesn’t over complicate things and doesn’t spout a load of bull. Dressed to fish and not go clubbing and actually talks English instead of the usual gangsta, street drivel. Fantastic ambassador and a credit to Fox; well done Tom 👍

Another great tips video. The one thing that has always impressed me about Fox & their videos is how they always emphasise that while other companies say you have to fish this way, they make a point of making sure you find what is needed to suit your fishing and capability. Like he even admits that he doesn’t certain types of rods or weights and set ups cos they don’t suit him where as to others its the opposite.

Nice video and some great tips, thanks. One question, what do you use on the reel as backing line before adding the Exocet mainline? I have experimented using backing line with same diameter as mainline and also much thinner, but still struggle with good line lay.

Nice work Tom, seen you smash a few of those leads at oxford 👍 I like to use the bag approach as my spodding skills arnt great and was wondering in your professional option weather I would benefit from changing from my scope 10ft to fox x4 10ft 3.5lb ( I prefer the 10ft pack down size and can still get the distance I need 90% of the time) so fix x4 10ft 3.5lb a good bag rod or do I really need the 12fters 👍
@bencollins2750

You will Probably loose that playing action in a high tc .Short rods can normally be very stiff

Ben Collins cheers for comment,,,, currently use 3lb scope but thinking of s change but never really use 12fters
@bencollins2750
@bencollins2750 5 жыл бұрын
If your thinking of a change and own scopes . I would defo consider some 12ft 50mm ring rods in 3lb with a nice through action plenty of power for uk fishing .You mention seeing Tom in oxford .Linear i guess could easily get right out on the brasenose lakes .Tight lines
@jacobyoungoxfordcarpangler3832

This is really helpful because Im really getting into carp fishing. I've always fishing like lure fishing and pike fishing But im not sure what flavour boilies because its so overwhelming because there are so many flavour. Could people comment down below if you have any good boilie flavours for medium lakes
@argonianmalc

You're best off asking what others use on the particular lake. They can often become tuned into a specific flavour, depending on what is commonly used. Also, just experiment! 😊

Great video Tom, one question and it's do you keep the line in the clip after you've made the cast? Cheers.
@jimwocha4949
@jimwocha4949 5 жыл бұрын
no, that would be stupid and could lead to you losing a rod.That's what the line markers are for. Once clipped up mark the line so you don't have to wrap up every time
@waynekeylock

@@jimwocha4949 that's what I thought, was interested to see how he clipped up after a fish. I assume he recasts winds Back to the line marker for the final cast.

Hi Wayne. Sorry, my post came over a bit aggressive! Yes, that's how I do it. Cast elsewhere then wind it back until the marker hits the tip ring. Too many tangles trying to wrap up at night otherwise.

nice one EMMERDALE , all you got to do now is learn to be a bit more courteous to your fellow anglers and you got it made ,ie move your van off the middle of the road so others can get around the lake instead of just looking and doing sod all about it. when asked , making people reverse all the way back ,,your not a SUPPER STAR YET LIKE , GOOD OLD DAVE LANE
