I'm glad they put the other fish back (besides the ones they gave away)👌

Yeah, thought I saw/heard that too. Wonder how the fish and wildlife would feel about that?🤨

Bighead carp, one of the most invasive are also very good eating. Commercial fisherman are taking tons of them from rivers and lakes around the country now....in Kentucky, on one lake (Barkley I think), there was a tournament where more than 40 tons were removed in two days.

You have the right idea. Polish your technique and get a bigger boat and a hoist. That's not safe. The net should be closed before pulling it and the fish should be hauled into a boat or up on land. Getting in your open net like that isn't good.

Might try contacting the people at Twin Rivers Processing. I know that's a place that they take the asian carp around Ky lake and Lake Barkley. www.tworiversfisheries.com/

tastes almost the exact same. My wife put up probably 60 jars from the stuff I got from 2 trips to the lake snagging, plus probably 10 lbs cooked as fillets and a few big batches of fish cakes. Crazy how many there are in the waterways.

never tired it raw but it is great cooked. Broiled or seared and then topped with an eel sauce would probably make for a nice addition to a roll.
@fredpimpstone70243 жыл бұрын
They use some of it for food and its not totally out of the question that some of it may be but probably not also alot of asian carp is used for fertilizer because the demand for carp for food In the usa isnt very high

Those actually look more like Native Buffalo Suckers rather than Common Carp.
@berthayellowfinch54717 жыл бұрын
They do look like and behave like native Buffalo. I agree. I know those people are trying to do the right thing but someone needs to teach them how to correctly use a net before someone gets hurt.
@colsoncustoms89944 жыл бұрын
They are very different from common carp. The grass carp (considered an asian carp as well) is much closer to the common one. The silver and big head act completely different, and although technically in the carp family, seem closer to a big shad.
