This video is part 2, and if you haven't seen part 1 yet, I recommend that you watch part 1 first.
I made a very nice and functional router table this time. This project was conceived for a long time, and a lot of effort was put into making a complete work. As much as I put in the effort, I am very satisfied with the results.
This router table is a standalone device, but it can also be used in conjunction with my table saw workbench. Then, it acts as an auxiliary side table of the table saw, and by connecting to the fence system of the table saw, the router table fence can be expanded widely.
The material used as a base is 18mm birch plywood.
10mm white acrylic
African rosewood on a stop block

AS ALWAYS, more outstanding creativity! Crazy thought, maybe fill the kerf cuts on the curved portion of the shield with an epoxy or even a sawdust/glue mixture to match the darker wood, just for the hell of it, but that contrast and attention to that one detail might look pretty cool. Either way, the time you take imagining, creating, editing and providing this content for us to enjoy is very much appreciated.

At first, I was a little confused about WHY you made it in two parts. But when I saw why. I thought it was a great idea to make sure your router table is really part and well secured to your work space. Second, I wanted to criticise you on the fact that you set such a well-set router table with such a rough top. Not using a nice slippery laminated top. But after seeing the end product. I TAKE IT ALL BACK. You did a fantastic job on your router table assembly ""I stick to the fact that it would've better with a nice laminated top"" But aside that. FANTASTIC. I've been woodworking for over 30 years. And NEVER that I would've thought of a fraction of what you did with it. Congratulations. Incredible Job!

38 thumbs up!! Outstanding quality, versatility, and novel design ideas. Love the guide bearing/locks for the fence and the ability to use the saw top for larger routing projects, as well as the curved routing shield. Well Done and great videography! Thanks Very much for the ideas and sharing with the community! Hat Tip, ~PJ

I really like watching your channel. Just know sawdust is flammable, vacuuming up the grinder sparks could cause a big fire. I had a grind grinding near a barrel of sawdust, later that night he lost everything in a fire. Inspection showed a small amount of sparks in the barrel caused it. You keep up the great job and I’ll keep watching.

adapting the router table fence to the table saw fence was really slick. i like that a lot. using the scale at the same time, that’s a very good planning. being able to have both tables level and flush with each other is even more impressive because no floor is perfectly flat. question 1: what a miter slot and not a t-track on the router table fence ? question 2: why is the duct port at such a steep angle and not at a lower angle so the hose relaxed ? nice job.
@carpentak
@carpentak Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the nice comment. Answer 1. The miter slot makes it easy to install and remove the featherboard. And I didn't make it this time, but I was thinking of making and installing a transparent safety guard. Easy to install and dismantle. Answer 2. The slope of the duct was installed as high as possible to prevent the hose from going to the table saw. To reduce the hose's impact on the use of the table saw. I don't like sagging hoses, but that's okay.

Wow, very clever indeed. I do not own my own home, but if I did, and had a workshop / shed, I could almost say with certainty that I could spend several years just developing my workshop before even doing a project. there are so many talented people like yourself, that inspire. Thanks for the video. I do have a question though. How do you work out the cut distance to get the curve on / in the plywood. How do you work out the 1/4 radius (I hope that I have said this right) or the curvature?

Thank you for your nice comments. I can't give you an answer to your question. Because I do it just based on experience. I don't do numerical calculations with math. I don't have that much math skills. ha ha ha

thank you Perhaps what you are asking about is a feather board. Search like that.
