Yesterday Once More taken from a 1973 UK pressing of The Singles: 1969-1973 by the Carpenters.
Recording digitised using the following equipment:
Turntable: Technics SL-1200G
Cartridge: Goldring G1042
Amplifier: Devialet Expert Pro 440
Direct USB connection from the audio system into a MacBook Pro.
No audio manipulation whatsoever, this is straight from the vinyl and on to the finished video.

👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟This is a real treat!!! Hearing The Carpenters the way they should be heard-on original vinyl!!! Everything sounds crisp and clear-including Karen’s one-in-a-million voice!!! It’s nice hearing an original mix of a Carpenters cut here on YT-“Lead Sister’s” brother Richard and the A&M studio crew got the mixes right the first time!!! Thanks for this most excellent upload!!!

thanks AudioPhil love the sound.... anyone want to sing a long ? When I was young I'd listen to the radio Waitin' for my favorite songs When they played I'd sing along It made me smile. Those were such happy times And not so long ago How I wondered where they'd gone But they're back again Just like a long lost friend All the songs I loved so well. Every Sha-la-la-la Every Wo-o-wo-o Still shines Every shing-a-ling-a-ling That they're startin' to sing's So fine. When they get to the part Where he's breakin' her heart It can really make me cry Just like before It's yesterday once more. Lookin' back on how it was In years gone by And the good times that I had Makes today seem rather sad So much has changed. It was songs of love that I would sing to then And I'd memorize each word Those old melodies Still sound so good to me As they melt the years away. Every Sha-la-la-la Every Wo-o-wo-o Still shines Every shing-a-ling-a-ling That they're startin' to sing's So fine. All my best memories Come back clearly to me Some can even make me cry. Just like before It's yesterday once more.

@P Mc Thanks for the reply "the thin burd" had her problems with anorexia and other stuff but when they had the right surroundings they could entertain for a couple of hours straight, all the best.

Hi Trevor - no question about it, just buy one. I've had many high end turntables and don't miss any of them - the 1200 equals or betters all of them. You won't be disappointed.

Surely it's a pain having to whip out the protractor? To me the At sounds more technical, with the Goldring more old school. I preferred you're other At cart you did a comparison with, sounded richer to these ears.

It's actually really simple to swap head shells / carts / configurations on the Technics so making these comparison videos is not as much of a headache as you'd think.

@@AudioPhil1 I'm actually tied up as to which route to go, so far I'm thinking At 120x with a Gustard A20H for the cans, but I hear Technics have a new 1200 coming and my Denon amp has a phono stage iirc.

I see what you mean now, just change the headshell and your done. I'm leaning towards pro-ject carbon or 1210gr
