To open the Stanley knife you need to extend the blade before opening the knife. It is written on the knife. The nice feature on the Stanley knife is the retractable blade I find that the knob gets in the way. I like the four-dollar harbor fright slotted blade better. I like the Orcon Action.

You would have thought they would have included an assembly diagram somewhere on the packaging. We had to disassemble ours to get it off the cardboard and then could not figure how to get it back together. Thanks for the demonstration.

These blades are up to 3x sharper then a utility blade, scary actually.

actually a pretty poor design with the handle falling apart when you loosen the knob. the Stanley written instruction manual is vague and ambiguous as well. sad lack of interest

Could you replace that plastic adjustment knob with something like a metal wing nut? Anyone know what size you would need if you can?
