I really love how gnembon developed this mod, while still respecting the vanilla game. Most mods are expansions that create a whole game on their own. But gnembon has love for the vanilla technical community. Really nice!

Even as someone who doesn't seek to optimise farms, carpet is more than useful. For me personally, I love the introduction of renewable methods for resources. The amount of world destruction that goes on in Minecraft all in the desire for resources. Even then, things like the Shulker, without tampering with the maps to trim the end world, you simply cannot get enough. I'd hope to see Mohjang consider how to aid renewable resource gathering, if not by the ideas you have presented with carpet then at least in some other way.

I'm definitely ok with shulkers not being renewable, since they're such an op item. Now we have renewable gravel so that's not a problem either, so the real problem right now is with sand and dirt, which we usually need massive amounts of.

@@noobster6462 dirt is renewable via coarse dirt. You combine 2x gravel with 2x dirt to make 4x coarse dirt. Then place the coarse dirt and till it with a hoe to produce 4x dirt. Repeat ad-nausium. Sand is also strictly-speaking renewable through the wandering trader, but only at abysmally low rates. It's also possible to use "falling block dupers" though those are a glitch rather than intended game mechanics. BTW what do you need massive amounts of sand for? if it's for making glass then you can just buy the glass from villagers.

I have a question, so I have it set that my server restarts at midnight everyday. but after the restart even the carpet settings I set to permanent are set back to false. Is there a way to fix this?

Amazing changes, non-renewability have alway bothered me, although it have never really affects me, the fact that there is a limit to what we could obtain in a world and the casual, non-effective way of exploring to get certain items are what make this mod so great, it just elimates those.

What are your thoughts on a feature that helps you visualize block light levels to help design lighting layouts? Another thought I had was a way to visualize the redstone power state of solid blocks; power level, high/low powered.

Get the MiniHud mod for fabric, it allows you to have an overlay for the light level and its even color coded

@gnembon: a suggestions for the sand renewability fix would be to have quartz drop as a player drop (like ingots from zombies). this would give a renewable source of quartz for redstoning and building. :) ..then all of my complaints (for years) would be fixed! yay. edit: maybe a way to get clay would be nice as well... maybe dropping quartz into water or something like that?

There is renewable clay in 1.14. Mason villagers drop clayblocks when the player have the hero of the village effect. If I remember right you will ger 2k clay block/h with 100 villagers.

Hi Gnembon, thanks for that great video! Your mod is just amazing! :) Unfortunately I can not make it work on my server. I've a server from a minecraft server provider where you can preselect minecraft versions. I asked them about the installation of your carpet mod and got the response that I need to run my server with their preinstalled minecraft forge version to make outside world mods run. I do assume that this is not the way I can use carpet mod in 1.14.4 since it's not based on forge but on fabric now? Or is there a way to make fabric run inside minecraft forge? *confused* Thanks in advanced for answering! :)

The ability to ignore quasi-connectivity would be much cooler and easier to implement in an existing world (because it wouldn't break anything) if you could make insulated Redstone components to perform that action as a separately craftable item. Could this type of item be created with similar code or would that be a start from scratch situation?

for the problem in freecam where you could use it to teleport basically: you could save the player position when doing /c and then /s. This would be similar to how freecam works in hacked clients :gasp:

when I do tick warp my game freezes when it's done, the game continues as normal but if I do F3 then I see things happening quickly is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
