Carpet One Building Abandoned And Ignored For Years Before 2nd Fire Finishes The Job! EXP.150
On this explore we tour an abandoned Carpet One Business still full of all the merchandise and personal effects when the building was evacuated for a fire upstairs and deemed unsafe to reopen!
The building then sat vacant and getting worse as an eye sore in my beautiful home town of Newmarket for a couple years untill the building a week caught fire and had be half demolished to be able to fight the fire. Coincidentally this happened just one month after the property owner got a notice from the town that they had 2 months to demolish the building on their own before they started facing gigantic finds.
So what do you think, Was this a random fire or was this something more criminal??

I've yet to rewatch Brandon but I bet the second fire was arson, you say the owner had fines hangin over his head OR someone/s in the neighborhood was sick of the eyesore. A few miles away from me there was a long abandoned stripper bar. People complained about it for years to the county with nothing being done. One morning in the wee hours an old driverless dump truck had rolled through it. The county had no choice but to finish the place off. THE END. 😉👍

Really cool explore Brandon. never would have thought a carpet store could have so much stuff left behind ~ crazy! The frozen water on the samples near the end was cool. Keep Orange Crushing it !

Hey Brandon! Very cool explore.👏 Not a coincidence my friend, nope. But all that stuff left behind was fuel for the fire. I hope it gets completely demo this time.😉💜✌

An incredibly cool exploration, Brandon. It's crazy how much stuff was left there. It was a really interesting place, too bad it was all destroyed by the fire.

Cool its a sign off the times so many places going out of business and that covid didn't help people so much carpet gone to waste.

I tried to find out a little more about the event timeline and what I found out from the newspapers is that apparently the first fire was June 8, 2022 and the second July 22, 2023. However, as there was ice on the floor when you were there it must have been winter then, which would mean you were there between the fires. The pictures I saw back that up, after the second fire it looks like most of the building was already as good as demolished. However you also said that the roof had been gone for a much longer time, which would mean there would have been another fire before the first, but the papers didn't mention one. Can you clarify? The calendar from 2020 will be correct however as the business had to close down for covid and hadn't reopened til the fire. Those clips were probably another system to hang carpet samples? The upstairs was the residence of the owners once but they say it was uninhabited at the time of the fire.

How sad. All those carpet, and wood samples could be donated for projects. Also the carpet itself. Looks like the owners just let it rot even when it was open. Also i dont know how the city or county township allowed the business to even operate with a damaged upstairs and roof. Very dangerous to have public coming in. Eventually the damaged roof would lead to mold and decomposition of the structure. Should of been condemed after the fire. Great video though. Those big orential rugs can be sent off and cleaned, and will be like new again. Here we call these stores Advance Carpet One.

Also some of those rugs look to be Kerastan rugs. Kerastan carpet is quite expensive.

Probably if a new roll was in a very well sealed plastic packaging it could have been saved, but everything else will unfortunately smell the smoke for a very long time if not forever.
