I think looking at their outfits over the years the ones from around the Dynasty album era were the best by a long mile. Ace's is the best by a long mile but I liked Gene's red cape and of course Eric's fox fur (sorry animal lovers).

I've never even been to NY (I'm from Finland) but ever since I got into Ace (and KISS but it all happened because of Ace and he comes first, always) I have also become very interested in The Bronx and its history as in his book he talks a lot about his time there as a young kid growing up. I love how he mentions Poe Park in his chat with Don Lane, haha. I know Ace grew up on the corner of E201 and Marion Av. Just in case you haven't seen it, there is actually a great old documentary on KZfaq about a block and its community which is located very near to your and Ace's neighborhood in Bedford Park, around E194th st and Briggs Av. The doc is called Our Block and it's from the early 80s. Look it up if you are interested! For once footage on TV about The Bronx that's NOT about the South Bronx... =)

I live in Gene's old neighborhood in Jackson Heights, Queens. Moved here in 1974 just as KISS were taking off. I went to the same high school and junior high school as he did but about a decade later. Had a friend whose older sister claimed she graduated with him in 1968. Our high school library had a collection of yearbooks from each year of the school's existence and I remember picking out the 1968 edition to see if Gene was in it and sure enough, there he was (as Gene Klein) in all his repulsive glory lol. This was about 1979, before his unmasking, so it was definitely NOT what I expected to see lol. The photo is now online for anyone who hasn't already seen it.

JENDALL714 Umm, actually no, Ace and Gene did many interviews together. I've rarely seen Paul and Gene being interviewed together (meaning, only them) during the makeup years. Ace and Gene did the Robert Klein show in '77, which also had the late Robin Williams as a guest. They also were the only ones taking part in the Australian 60 Minutes TV program in 1980. There's also a radio interview here on KZfaq from spring '79 with A&G, done around the time Dynasty was released. "All they had left was Ace" sounds pretty rude, Ace was a very popular member in KISS, certainly in '79/'80. This interview for one would not have been nearly as convivial with Paul there instead of Ace, he was the life of the party.
