Poor Carrie, she really was sleep-deprived and tired as she said and you could tell yet she remained quite sharp during the interview.

For anyone who wants to watch an interviewer with rapport, I highly recommend the interviews Carrie did with Clive James. Much more insightful than this. I also can't understand why anyone would film an interview with the subject next to a mirror and have people appear and disappear in the reflection.

Man, these dudes are kind of obnoxious. Some of the questions were terribly insensitive and they did a lot of talking over her, it seems. I'm glad she gave them the what for (and yet still managed to be very gracious).

This isn't the lost interview, this is the shameful interview that should never be seen because it's embarrassing what a waste of time these guys turned out of an amazing opportunity.

Having grown up in El Paso, it was a big deal when Debbie Reynolds came to town. El Paso especially supported their darling Debbie when Eddie Fisher, Debbie's husband at the time, left her for Elizabeth Taylor. Sad that Carrie would refer to her mother's hometown as " shanty". It's far from shanty. But that was Carrie for you. RIP

I think it had to do with her family living there during the depression, so her grandfather got them to California in consideration of hard times there.
