I went from hearing this song dozens of times and thinking "cool song" to listening to it today and having a complete and total meltdown. Temporary Home is another of her songs I'm sure you would enjoy. It hits me on a personal level because my crumbsnatchers and I were in out of homelessness due to disabilities and mental health issues on all our parts. My faith was the only thing I had to keep me strong because practically all my family has failed us but my God never has. He has opened doors to amazing opportunities for us and I am forever in awe of His greatness.

Thanks for this throwback. I’d forgotten how much I love this song. Another amazing song of hers is “Something in the Water”, but you can’t go wrong with Carrie. “Temporary Home” is another favorite.

Personally, when I surrender something I just can't fix by myself to Jesus, I feel myself literally calm down and feel better because it's off of my shoulders and then I just trust that Jesus will work it out for me. Last year I had lower back surgery and I was in such bad pain. I used lyrics from this song in my prayers with tears of pain and surrender running down my face 😔. Once I did that, I could actually sleep peacefully for awhile. Did it make me well all of a sudden? No, but it made it bearable enough to get thru another day. Thank you so much for your reaction. When Carrie came out with this, it blew me away. It still does. I went through 14 years of running away from God (from age 12, to age 26), but He never let me go. By the time I finally surrendered, I ended up divorced, with four kids to raise. I had finally given Him "the wheel," though, and what a difference. I'm now 73-1/2, with my "forever husband" the Lord sent to me, who brought another son with him. We added the sixth, ourselves (making three boys and three girls, all together). As our 40th anniversary looms, this coming November 25, we now have 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and God has never, ever failed us. Jesus really will take the wheel...when you let Him. Glory to God! 😀

Similar happened to me, husband, daughter and son, in a car accident. Husband and daughter didn’t make it. I still ask god every day to help me on my journey. No answers would ever be good enough as to the “ why” of it. I pray for you to have faith , strength, and peace. Much love.

I've been watching a lot of videos from you, and what I have learned from you, is you love all kinds of music, but mostly love music that touch you. And what I've learned most and foremost from you is how much you love your family....So I recommend this song for you....This is a song the my daughters remember most me singing to them. It's by Rascal Flatts, and it's called, My Wish For You. They have grown up to be two of the most amazing people I will ever know, and I am so happy they are going to be out there spreading their love and passing that on to their children. I am considered strict in today's standards, but my girls were raised to be respectful and kind. I am so proud of the women and mothers they have become and I am so proud of all six of my grandchildren. Unfortunately, not all can say that. But I give tribute to this song, that I sang to my girls, to let them know as a single MOM...this song means, you have to have the courage to dream and I will do all that I can to make it happen, but I will not do all the work, you have a dream, you do all the work, and I will help it along...A dream is not a dream if someone does all work for you.
