Pierre, I really enjoyed to watch this, and you could give information, which I didn't know yet. Especially about where to aim on circular break. But for my feeling, I concentrate on the coin I want to hit in the break, and not anymore aiming lines or arrows. But I will try again your ways :-)

Madhu here, from Chennai (India) @15:15, can you try varying/controlling your speed and check if you are still pocketing black coin? I have a hunch that you will figure out the approximate power required to avoid pocketing black in the first shot by experimentation. I strongly feel it has to do with your power on your first strike.

Just got my first board. Looking forward to playing. Your videos are very helpful. What is it you are calling a coin that lands near your baseline? Sounds like you are saying “bomb”. What does that mean?
@seyeah1

Thanks ! Yes a coin which is near the baseline is very useful and also called a bomb.A kind of joker that will give you the opportunity to open various situations to finish the board.

@@seyeah1 Thanks for the reply. Where is a good place to get answers to rules questions. Been trying to get answers to the following on Reddit, but no answers. * If I pocket Queen and my last CM on same stroke do I win the board? * If I pocket Queen and opponent CM (not his last) is it considered covered for opponent? * Is a common strategy to not pocket queen too early?
@seyeah1
@seyeah1 5 ай бұрын
@@JohnMRaggio you have to look for the international rules of carrom. *queen and your last coin: queen out, your last coin out plus one more of your coin out as a due, and you keep your turn. *queen and opponents coin in one stroke, you keep your turn to cover the queen with your coin. * depending on the score in the game and the position of the carrommen, it can be a strategy to keep the queen defended near your base frame for example, and reduce your coins first. But the queen is also very important, and many times it's better to confirm it when you can and better defend another opponent's coin. Because the queen value (3) is more around 7 or 8 if you count the 3 points of that queen plus the cover you didn't give to your opponent, and the 3 points + your cover when you took it for you. So it's definitely important to get maximum queens in a game.
@JohnMRaggio
@JohnMRaggio 5 ай бұрын
@@seyeah1 thanks Pierre. The answer to #2 surprised me, but makes sense. If I don’t cover it then the queen comes out and opponent simply got a free coin? For #1 if I sink queen and coin that is not my last it is counted as covered, correct?

Hi pierre, brilliant video, very helpful. I need help. I started playing carrom 2 weeks ago,I gave the Synco champion green board, I use mostly Index finger flick and scissor whip, no matter how hard I try I cannot get the coins to scatter when I break like they do in your video! Does if take alot of practice to break like you do or maybe I am doing something wrong? I did research on carrom powder and alternatives, I read that boric acid powder is best but am worried about using this so I have been using baking powder which I read makes a good substitute. When I break coins only move apart a cm, with maybe 1 or 2 going about an inch more my striker is 40mm across and 15g, I break with either index finger or whip I have tried other grips but break is still the same, can you help?? Also what powder do you use? Thank you Gemma x
@seyeah1
@seyeah1 3 жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for your comment. Which powder do you use exactly ? Is it a potatoe starch powder you got with the board or did you try to find a good one yourself ? Because that potatoe starch powder we are using in Europe is not easy to find, we order it from Germany.. This might be the only problem. Maybe you'd need to put a bit more powder with good one, that what you might use now. You can also order it from www.carrom-online.com if you live in Europe

@@seyeah1 my board did not come with powder so i looked on internet for other powders I can use, I tried baby powder, baking soda and baking powder. I have now looked on Ebay in UK for Potato starch (also called Farina Flour) and it is quite cheap here, I can get 1kg for under £10.00 GBP (€11). I do have corn flour in the kitchen which i may try first. But as you use potato starch I will probably by a little to try an if it works well I will buy 1kg bag. Is your potato starch 100% or does it have anything else mixed in? Many thanks for the help. Gemma.x
