They trying hard and aui easily costed them the game, he can't even back up skiter when landing 2 chrono and let the opponent save their teammate in the chrono

After all these buffs, even topson couldn't make pugna mid looks good again. Early game weak compared to meta heros? check. Late game tickling ult? check. Mid game is ok but then again, need to heavily relies on supports to make plays while mid other heroes goes right in your enemy face. Primal beast, kunkka water parks, pango roll, lesh so on.

For sprout root. If u pay attention, he bought it right after the teamfight where he got sprout rooted like 2-3 times in a row.

The item choice is so bad this game. NP sprout and ulti root + Treant basic atk root and Ulti root can be nulify with Manta.
