Thank you for taking the time do make this video. I know the work that goes into it. If you have time, maybe do an edit when speaking of the battery packs. The rechargeable pack contains 8 AA rechargeables, not 4. And the Alkaline holds 6 AA, not three. 👍

Small world. To my right on my desk sits a Midland 75-822 that is still used for in house audio checks. A true SEE BEE. It will talk to any thing you can see. Go for its AM/FM cousin Uniden PRO538HHFM just because. It also has an RF gain setting. 1st clue when using it in the car. Hang the whole unit from the mirror as you would a normal microphone. (It is that light and small without batteries.) 2nd clue. Plug an external speaker to the speaker plug on top of the radio and feed the speaker cord down the power wire. It will sound a 1000 times better. You are welcome.

It will be useless as a portable (walking around HT) that short little duck is not even close to a 1/4 wave of 11M. You need 9.02 feet of electrical length of wire AND a counterpoise. Will not happen with that rubber duck even spirally wrapped.

1/4 mile if talking between 2 of them. 1 mile if talking to a true base unit. and that is if batteries are putting out top voltage. Their are several CB walkie talkies being sold right now. People are expecting more then they can provide. I am happier taking any U-tube radio claim and cutting expectations 90%. When someone put a 102 inch whip on a lawnmower. I said to heck with it all.
