Carrying a Chris Reeve Lg Sebenza 31 for 1 Whole Week

First iteration of 1 knife, 1 week. I have carried this Chris Reeve Lg Sebenza 31 in Magnacut for 7 days. Here are my thoughts on how it did.

On my 31's I've never had to loctite the pivot since it has a pivot bushing you can tighten it down unless you want it loose to flick or drop shut. The Inkosi doesn't have one so it definitely needs some loctite for me personally, great video! Also, I personally love the snail trails on the plain Jane 31 and Inkosi

@@the_pointy_end yeah PJ Insingo is my preferred pattern. I may have them swap my blue studs on my large Inkosi for silver ones on the next service and I'm considering having it glass blasted to give that a shot, never tried their glass blast.

Ive read more than once that on a 31, the loctite is for the stop pin, because the stop pin is harder and theres more lockbar tension

Nice sub…. My mnandi (lefty) has been on order since January 2020. Still waiting…. Patiently…. My Large Sebenza has been on order since 21’…. One day…. At least I have my 14060m… Thanks for the review, I hope I get both in magnacut!

I have the same knife and I to don’t like the factory pocket clip. I’ve scratched so many things… the worst was my mom’s antique table chair. This CR is in my three knife edc. Solid knife for sure.

Oh man! Sorry to hear about the table. It’s a weird thing- that spoon at the end shouldn’t add THAT much but it just feels like I run into everything when it is in my pocket. Thanks for the comment! 🫡

Put a Ripps garage tech clip on it. I got one for all my crk it feels way better.

Lynch clips. Check that co. out. Great co. I addition I believe the thumb studs on a CRK are not screwed in there pressed in which makes them a pain to take out and replace if you don’t have the right tools.

I don’t mind snails, like them even! I just take issue with how easily the blue Ano comes off… not even worth them applying it IMO

Evan if you don’t Loctite your pivot it’s so big and over beefy it would never back out all the way. you can unscrew the pivot all the way to 1 thread left and it still wouldn’t back out. They are custom made for crk

I have definitely backed out the pivot and body screws all the way unfortunately

They are great knives! Get dual studs though!

You used to not have to use Locktite on CRKs. That level of precision was the justification for a $500 knife.

For sure. I don’t mind having to put some loctite on the pivot to keep the tension I like but it is frustrating how often the body screws back out

I don't think I'll ever buy one. For the price, I'd have very high expectations, and I have a feeling I'd be disappointed.

You can get them on the secondary for pretty reasonable coin- definitely give one a try!
