Assuming they use the comp rules I know, you need a two round advantage when you reach the round limit (7,8,etc) to win. Otherwise it goes into overtime and doesn't stop until one team has two round lead

He does, he only plays close range anyway so he has more advantages than disadvantages

Overall using sync is better for everything, it gives you less recoil from long ranger as well so even if you only see a dot you can kill them depending on how good is your aim and recoil control. But sometimes people prefer not to use it so it is based on how [you] feel with it.
