Disney/Pixar's Cars 3 opens in US theatres in 3D June 16, 2017.
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!
Cars 3 is directed by Brian Fee (storyboard artist “Cars,” “Cars 2“) and produced by Kevin Reher (“A Bug’s Life,” “La Luna” short).

I was pretty disappointed with how Cars 3 turned out, yes he has his awesome racing moments, but Pixar just made him into a fucking joke like the first movie but worse. Why couldn't they just upgrade his fucking engine specs? Also, the whole point of the movie is that Mcqueen gets to decide when he should retire and so he trains hard to beat the rookie and just before the final race he turns to his trainer asks her to race in his place. I went to watch the movie expecting that it will be about a comeback story of Mcqueen and not how he is forced to retire. And I thought this movie was going to be great, but no they just had to make Mcqueen a damn joke

@@Tiruz-YT i love cars, but that channel is cringy as hell. The only things i can rescue from that channel is the making a track and kauncher with cardboard and the scene recreations (even though CarsShifter does a WAY better job with moving eyes and tires and using the ACCURATE diecasts)

A perfect representation of Mcqueen's nightmare. He crashes himself, suspenseful ambience, intensifying heartbeat, grayish hue/colors throughout the entire video but the most chilling detail of all, the way the audience and the other racers are presented here. You can't see the eyes of the other racers and the audience is not moving and they either don't have or you can't see the pupils in their eyes. They're like lifeless representations of the originally lively cars in the movie. All of these details build up a scary nightmare perfectly set-up just for Mcqueen.

I hate the fact that they made the trailer seems like it's going on a dark topic for McQueen but all they did was basically yeet his self-development and replace him with Cruz. Like I get it, he's old and making him win is too cliche but if Cars 3 was the last movie then why didn't they just proceed to make him win?

Well there were different versions of the endings that were only on draft boards. One of em had McQueen going to the last race in Dinoco with 51 Number. Sadly they changed it with him being the coach

I actually think that the final race is my favorite part of the movie. It just shows how much lightning's character has grown over the years. Heck, my favorite line in the movie is when lightning says "Cruz! Get outta there!" because it shows that he cares about Cruz way more than he does his career. Sure, the alternate version where McQueen raced for dinoco was very powerful and would have worked great for McQueen's arc, but I see why they changed it, because the scene in the final product has an effect on both Cruz and McQueen's arcs, and ultimately, I'm happy with that.

Just watched Cars 3 again and brought myself back to here. Like many of you, I grew up with the Cars franchise and to this day, they remain some of my favourite films. I think what could have been if only Cars 3 adopted the dark tone shown in the teaser. There was so much room for making developments regarding Lighting’s character and his relationships with those around him. Most importantly, the logical space left after the death of Doc Hudson could have easily been utilised more so than in the actual movie. Fan service is is great when done properly. Lighting coming to the end of his “golden age” should not have been overshadowed by Cruz. The chance to draw parallels with Doc and his end provoked by his crash was alluded to but not explicitly shown. It really is a shame when I think to what we could have got.

I honestly didn't like Toy Story 3. The idea of it sounds cool, but I just don't think it works out all that well in the long run. The spirit of it seems off. Plus, it's not like the cars movies were really that good anyway.

Cars 3, more than an animation. The important thing was not to win. Cars 3 is the best animated film after Toy Story 3. I wish the movie was as dark and depressing as in the teaser trailer.

Even though it may have been a great film, I can’t stop feeling like this trailer is for... something different. The movie could be dark yes, but this... seems for a different film. One far darker, focusing on the... rather gruesome and horrific things that also happen in the Cars universe.

@@sdmedia1323 no unfortunately it was just made to create a ton of hype around the dark scene and have people speculate just how dark it would be. It of course ended working since this movie was a hit and rightfully so. Although technically cars 2 did straight up show a car die in front of us so that was even darker. Darker cars movie would be really cool to see regardless.

Harry Potter did this? I've read the series four times and I'm a die hard Harry Potter fan. When Fantastic Beasts came out I ran to get tickets. It didn't really seem like they did this in Harry Potter. I'm pretty sure they didn't do this in Harry Potter. Nah I disagree. The trailers were great but the whole movie itself was better. I think Cars 3 is easily my favorite Cars movie. Maybe it's my favorite Pixar movie ever but that I'm not too sure on that yet. Edit: I take it back. The first is better and Cars 3 isn't one of my favorite Pixar films

***** Yep. When you think about it, WALL-E is a pretty dark film, despite its cheery-ish tone. Life on Earth has been extinct for over 700 years, with nothing more but a small robot and a plant being the only ones left. In one of the deleted scenes from that film, when AUTO was originally a mobile robot, he found a recording that would initiate A-113. The reporter that you see in the final film was still there, telling people not to return to Earth, but it was more violent, like he was suffocating or burning to death. Don't know what actually happened, but the atmosphere was probably pretty toxic.
