Yeah, Cars, Cars: Mater-National Championship, and Cars: Race-O-Rama are orders of magnitude better than Cars 2 and Cars 3: Driven to Win.

Which comes first? The Minigame or the Race? I always seem to unlock the Race first instead of the Minigame when I'm in Story Mode.
