There is a special CBP-Verse mini comic at the end of this episode. This episode on CBP: seeing how a whole new problem just rose from nowhere to haunt her, Cargo is concerned. Twinkie’s report on how Chief sitting Duck now has means to control a Horror Cube was just terrifying to her, and the girl has absolutely no clue of how to sort that issue. However, just as soon as the initial panic with that revelation subsided, she and the redhead had an idea. “Okay, you said the panel thing worked PARTIALLY, right, Twinkie?” “Yeah. Goode never got it to work 100%, he just didn’t have the time. The thing got stolen from the labs halfway through development, so he just focused on developing his other project, an anti-dummy cannon.” “Oh I see… WAIT! So the thing that hit Petrolhead…” “It was Goode.” “Wow…” “It was sort of a side project anyway, the Commissariat never thought something would ever come of it, really… until it started working. And then somebody took it from us.” “But anyway, why was it just partial control?” “Well… there were two main issues we never got around: range and frequency. As for the range, the panel and its operator NEED to be less than a kilometer from the Horror Cube at all times for it to be effective.” “So Sitting Duck needs to be close to the thing?” “Exactly. That’s probably why he came closer himself instead of using the panel. As for the frequency, basically, it uses a much less refined version of what the Mainframe used to hack into Type 2 dummies, and vehicles. The only frequency minimally compatible with that creature are from ancient tech, and we do not fully understand those just yet, making it vulnerable to failures from all sorts.” “Failures?” “Yeah. Anything from intentional tampering and jamming to even bad meteorologic conditions can make the panel not work as intended.” “So we can do some jamming to counter it, like Goode did with the Mainframe’s frequency?” “Yes! In fact, given that thing’s power, that is the most viable strategy.” “Yeah, but we would need a device to broadcast a signal to mess with his controls…” That is when Twinkie raised an eyebrow. “I may or may not have something of use in the Toy Golem…” What happens next?
