Cross Kart SAFETY UPGRADES | 5pt Harness, Axles, Wheel Balance

CarsandCameras

5 жыл бұрын

We make safety upgrades for our 750cc cross kart! These include a 5 point racing harness, new CV axles to replace the worn out ones, and a very important tire balance. On our first speed test, the front right tire was severely out of balance, and around 55 miles an hour would actually bounce. Next time, we'll finish up the harness, extend the roll hoop, and go for a top speed run!
Thanks for Watching!

CarsandCameras , what you don't seem to take into consideration that these CV axles are supposed to be balanced too because, well, any rotating mass should, otherwise they will cause vibration as well.

you should tell whoever printed that it'll be fine shirt your wearing to make sure the shirts are reaching a high enough temp for a long enough time to fully cure the ink. white is one of the hardest inks to cure. it's why the print on your shirt is cracking , starting to flake off and the red of the shirt is grinning through the print. a surface temp gun doesn't cost much and it is a way to make sure your delivering quality to your customer's . I have over 30 years in the industry and I am sure of what I am saying. if you want to let me know you saw this I can and will delete it after. my point is not to make people worry about buying one , but to protect you from anyone complaining about anything they have bought from you. Best of intentions love the channel.

@@theR6969 CV axles are not balanced from the factory. the out of balance is on such a small radius it barely does anything and the design of the joint will take some of the bounce out. In fact, im not entirely positive you could ever get a true balance out of a CV axle.

When you cut "flat bar" in the chop saw, stand it vertical. It cuts faster through a smaller section, creates less heat, and causes less stress on the saw.

I said it many times before.... It needs a fuel pump. Just get the original one that came with the donor bike, or a one designed for carbs. The fuel pump is needed when you ask a lot of it. That's because gravity isn't enough to fill the carbs at high RPM.

they have to look at the shape of the blades of the fan to run it in the proper rotation for best efficiency...
@Acoustic_Theory
@Acoustic_Theory 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the fan blades are also directional. They are not just angled - they are curved to accelerate air more efficiently along the surface, and that curvature works best when the fan is oriented with the side having no grille toward the item you want to cool.
@RaisingLionsNotSheep
@RaisingLionsNotSheep 5 жыл бұрын
If they flip the fan around the flip polarity too and I still works the same
@Acoustic_Theory
@Acoustic_Theory 5 жыл бұрын
Nelson Bettencourt No, it’s not that simple. The fan blades are curved so they only work efficiently (generate max airflow) if the fan is rotating so that the blades are curved into the air. This is part of the geometry of the molded plastic blades, and cannot be reversed just by making the fan spin backwards. The blades themselves are directional. So no, it is not as simple as reversing the polarity. Read what I wrote earlier.

Congrats on cracking the UJM formula engine and frame combo. Been watching you channel for years and watching the comments from people begging for a Japanese four cylinder motorbike engine in one of your projects. This is a watershed moment for C & C and I think we should savor the win. From here things can only get more insane, you will be able to swap in later model or larger cc engines with ease, giving you access to anything from the current 70Hp to three times the grunt. This is one you will be able to "grow" into.

@bdhale34
@bdhale34 5 жыл бұрын
Some taller tires, maybe around 2" taller, and mufflers would make it a lot better for sure. You can have a lot more fun, for longer, if you're cart is quiet than you can if it's overly loud (which this thing certainly is, honestly almost all of their projects need mufflers).
