Does it have the connected car features like in India?

Ciro should have acquired a top of the range Venue to compare it with this top of the range T-Cross its understandable if it was not available at the time but surely a base model of the T-Cross was available for this comparison. Agreed Hyundai & Kia really makes some good quality interior plastics something VW was known for. If you know what a quality plastic dash is then you will be able to see the difference once you've set inside a Kia, Hyundai, VW, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Suzuki, Mazda or Peugeot. Quality plastics have a rich colour and almost soft in the eye and solid on the touch with seamless joints wherever there are joints so that you cannot see them. They have this rubbery feeling on the tips of your fingers and solid built with minimal sound when you knock on them plus they are built for longevity in all climates, they can withstand the heat for a long time. Now with that said here is my list in the order of best quality plastics and it is worth noting that I do this all the time ( test driving & personal reviews of car spec and interior design plus built quality) when a new product is launched which is a habit turned hobby for me. 1.Kia 2.Hyundai 3.Mazda 4.Renault 5.VW 6.Suzuki 7.Peugeot 8. Honda 9.Toyota 10.Nissan. there is no doubt Kia makes the best plastic built interiors and are doing exactly what VW used to do and that is not to say VW is terrible now but they still make the best soft touch (rubber) interiors in mainstream vehicles class. Whilst Toyota and Nissan does not even care what an interior is or how it hurts that it's so cheap. Suzuki is the only Japanese that excels in this department with quality built plastics you won't go wrong with them and the same goes for Renault lately. My last 3 Visits were Kia Seltos, Hyundai Venue I love these products and they make sense in every way, they are funky and stylish too and lastly Renaults Triber, yes Renault fans its better than the Kwid and Go plus, the engine is quieter and bit more refined than in the Kwid but the gear jumps on second you'll need some getting used to it.

I’d get the VENUE. Cheaper and looks beautiful. Of course interior quality isn’t as good as the t cross but people buying a car at the price won’t care. They want a small suv that goes a to be THATS fuel efficient

You missing out many factors, Fuel economy (Real economy - driving the car for more than a week), parts availability, cost of service, Those are things a lot of us look at, VW is cheaper on service and always has better fuel economy across the board, on the boot volume lets stick to the volume calculated and not what we see perception is dangerous,

Should have compared this venue to VW T-cross comfortline. And the highline to Venue Glide... T-cross comfortline = R343 300 Venue Fluid DCT = RR339 800 T-cross Highline = R374 500 Venue Glide DCT = R369 800 VW T-cross is the better car

I think this comparison is slightly unfair. In the video Ciro makes a lot of noise about the R100K difference in price. But it's not entirely apples with apples. In this comparison, you're comparing a top-spec Highline to a mid-spec Fluid. When comparing a Comfortline with a Fluid, the price difference isn't nearly as much! Speccing a Comfortline to the Fluid (Composition Media for Apple CarPlay and the Park Package for the reversing camera), the price difference is merely R20K. It's still more expensive (as most VW's usually are.), but by much a narrower margin. But then, the Fluid doesn't have LED DRLs, Foglights, Front PDC, nor Cornering Lights, Auto-wipers, and one-touch operation for all 4 windows, and crucially, no split folding rear seats.

Is the Hyundai vanue supposed to compete with the Kia seltos? If so then they must want people to buy the Seltos since they're family.

Hi Ciro i must admit the Hyundai Venue is a nice car my previous car was the Hyundai i10 Grand no problems experienced when i read on the VW T - Cross that was imported into South Africa in 2019 as mentioned in your drive review the entry level was under R300,000.00 good price I purchased the Standard comfortline DSG Automatic seven speed & as you know the DSG Automatic gear boxes is so smooth which started with the Golf GTI which was actually quicker than the manual GTI I don,t think that the Venue has the DSG gear box very happy with my T - Cross since i purchased in September 2019 then for me was value for money which still had the bells and whistles 😊

The T-cross is pretty much a polo for 400k

Recently rented a manual Venue gor a few weeks and I own a DSG 1.0TSI Polo. Venue is a nice car, very cheap plastics, plenty of turbo lag and spins up very easily,in the rain quick pull are impossible, TC or not it spins alot. Once on the go the 3cyl engine sounds amazing for such a little car and it pulls strong with a wide tev range. Polo is far more refined in every department however you pay a premimun for this and I believe back to back in SA, the Venue would out sell the Polo if the price was right as VW have out priced themselves.

T-Cross looks better in my opinion. Ciro you are really getting good at this, you look and sound very comfortable actually like you are at home.

My boss had a venue..at about 70 000km the injectors packed up and costed 18k to fix ...he fixed it and traded it immediately..The car was just 2 years old

The venue is a thirsty little car with a small tank, but enjoyed the drive quality and high sitting position.

Easy decision: Hands down the Tcross...on levels. The venue looks horrible and cannot even compete with a vehicle such as the Tcross. You were very polite in this interview :-)

Just been through this process of looking at pretty much all the cars in this segment and while the t-cross is a great little SUV it's grossly underpeced and overpriced. VW used to lead in quantity and engineering but no longer the case. Simply cannot understand how they can justify the prices any longer. The snooty VW agent replied with "it's a VW you know. If you want to drive a Kia that's up to you.

Nice sense of humour. I generally like your videos, but this one felt like you're comparing apples with oranges. If you take the highline variant of the T-Cross yes it's only R30k more, but you still get more than what the Venue offers. Not everyone needs to accessorize the VW to the top spec. The features you pointed out on the Venue is cruise control, most cars hopefully in this price range has that feature. Then you don't think people would like park assist, that's a strange assumption to make. Let's notify all the luxury car manufacturers to discontinue that feature. I think this was a very poor comparison.

My friend went to go and test drive both. He got the T Cross. The Venue was made so cheaply. It feels cheap and has cheap plastics, cheap finishes. It's horrible in the typical Hyundai way. If you want a Hyundai rather just get a Kia then. Kia always seems to do the same car better than Hyundai (like the Picanto feels alot better than an i10). On another note, a better buy would be the upcoming Renault Captur or Peugeot 2008. The Seltos is too expensive especially since the normal models is that horrible 1.6.
