Perfect car for seemingly any occasion in my head, everyone who saw it wanted to chat about it or take pictures of it with us - so much fun. Love the GT junior.. Think I've mentioned it before😂 it's on my bucket list before I'm too old and decrepid, but after my next bucket list car.. Alfas are like your first girlfriend, you can never truly get over them, and always smile when thinking about her.. My alfasud, still the only car I've ever bought new in over 40 years of driving, and in a bucket somewhere I expect, but it's always in my heart.. Even JBs shirt looks cool in the junior😂

Hahah definitely like that analogy - thoroughly enjoyed driving it, probably more than the 4C just based on how amazing the experience was! Highly recommend getting one once you’ve got the next bucket list car (although I’m sure in your case there’ll be another bucket list car beyond the GT Junior joining the garage!)

Whether Umer starts his own channel or not, he's a great guest so worth having on future videos. That hand throttle is like pro-level cruise control. This is definitely a car that everyone will smile at, 4C not so much even though that's pretty but the GT is incredible. Must have stalled it at least twice...

Very kind, T! Crunched into second once, but I do that sometimes when I forget to take 1st to 2nd slowly, was pleased to see JB actually give it some! Yeah, not sure about the channel, but I'd happily join JB again if he/you guys wanted me!!

That's not too bad for a first drive in a classic car like that! Would definitely be good to see you back on the channel at some point, whether it's with these cars or whatever you buy next (especially if it's a GT4!) ☺

Yeah did not enjoy the crunch into second, since my dad recently money-shifted his R5... but other than that the car was so smooth and easy to drive! Strangest thing imo was the indicator - very weird

That car is a STUNNER! Defo a very VERY cool 2 car collection right there. Sports car daily and a classic for the weekends. More videos like this would be a joy to watch.

Drove a 1300 Junior at Oulton Park in 1972, er...my friend Peter Kempsey couldn't drive his Alfa off the wet grass and I was asked to "feather foot" it onto the access road, but I did drive it at Oulton Park 👍🏽😊

Love this video and at the same time it breaks my heart. I had the exact car (not as clean as this one) when I was stationed in Naples, Italy in 1984. Let a friend borrow it and he totaled it on the Autostrada. Thanks for a trip down memory lane.

hi guys! great insight into this car! i found it very helpful. i am in the process of buying one. My only concern after watching your vid is whether it will be too slow, or capable even, for trips on the motorway. Appreciate any input on this!!

I own a Giulia sprint GT 1600 Veloce and there is no way i would sell it but if i had to i really Wonder What car i would swap it with. Gosh ! I enjoy it so much 😀

All is great until you need to a) have cracks in the dashboard on the older stepfront models (there is no replacement and covering up will crack again) b) replace the door seals (most don't fit) or c) want to replace any interiour parts like vinyl sheets or carpet (most don't fit at all) - oh and a new cylinder head is usually only sold on exchange base and you need to provide a workable head.

Haha fortunately (unfortunately?) he’s just sold this one without having to handle any of that work! Car was methodically restored before he bought it though which made life a bit easier for him

@@CarsWithJB Sure, if they run, they run (well, until they eat away another head gasket). The sound is awesome, the ride super comfy (maybe even a bit too comfy and wobbly). During summer months you'll need to have the windows open all the time and on particularly hot days the heater needs to be on, but they are still just too much fun to drive. Sound gets even better if you ditch the stock intake and go for trumpets on the Weber carbs. You can probably go without a horn this way. The 105 series just looks like straight out of a Felini movie. It's the quintessence of Bella Italia. The late 50s up to mid 70s just were the epitome of car design. They never looked that good ever again.

My 1750 GTV which has been in my family since 1974. Advice if you want a 105 Alfa: Buy the BEST example you can find. It's much cheaper in the long run than buying a poorer example and spending money on it. I disagree with the view expressed at the 2.27 point. Most spares are readily-available but not cheap. Spares are perhaps three times the cost of the equivalent part for an MGB, although one third of the cost for anything E-Type.

I own a 1967 Giulia Sprint GT Veloce. Spares are NOT cheap. Especially now with Brexit, shopping from Sweden is not gonna happen. There are other companies from EU to shop from.

@@uksharif Umer as in Umer in the video? If so, JB let out your dirty little secret- GT4 ☺ If everything I just said is actually right, do it! I just bought a 981CS and the little gargle from the exhaust at 2,250 RPM is worth the cost of the car by itself. Not sure I'd bother with a GT4, GTS is perfect I reckon (but I found an S in the perfect spec so got that). Just get a decent colour- I've got white with black wheels/mirrors and red calipers. If you're using it on track though, the GT4 is the right choice, if a bit pricey.

@@ApothecaryTerry haha yes and yes. I won't be getting a GTS over the 4C, although it is a good car. I need something which excites me. And yes, it'll also see track time, whatever I buy, but after the 4C, anything that doesn't feel special won't happen

Not that the 981 S isn't special, but the 4C and Junior are such events to drive, own, engage with people about... The GT4 is the closest I can get go s car I really WANT to own

@@uksharif If you're going to be using it on track then the GT4 makes sense. Mine is a practical daily driver so the S was the one to go for. There's also the fact I definitely couldn't afford a GT4 which made that an easier decision for me!
