You're very good at explaining the different features. However, for Android auto you left one thing out. Most phones use a USB 3.0 connector and you don't show where that is. In fact, the Dodge Challenger's basic model only uses a USB 2.0 connector. It would be nice if you would have said this upfront.

The Challenger and Charger only have support for USB-A for data transfer. Would it have been nice to have been mentioned for people wondering where the port is? Sure. But if it's not there I didn't see the point in mentioning it

I just bought a 2023 challenger skat pack widebody. Is the uconnect screen the same size as the 2022? I'm finding a lot of screen protecters for challengers up to 2022. But not the 2023. Thanks!

I have a question for you. I just bought a 2022 Charger Scat. I listen to music on a thumbdrive in one of the USB ports in the console. When I plug my Android phone into the other USB port in the console, the thumbdrive stops playing. The owner's manual says that you can have only one Bluetooth device running. Is this the reason the music stops playing on the thumbdrive? Thank you.

Have you tried playing music via bluetooth? Did you have delay when pausing or skipping a song?

I've played but haven't spent much time flipping between songs. I'd imagine like with most bluetooth connections it would take a brief second for the pause to happen. I'll give that a try though next time I'm in a Dodge!

yes my 2019 has a slight delay with using bluetooth......also android auto is kinda strange. the cable i use for my home charger wont stay consistently connected. like the slightest move it disconnects

It should have support for it.. Just make sure that you're using a USB cable that supports data transfer

It might depending on what features your 2018 has. There was the option for a screen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support .. so you can try plugging into the USB port to see if it loads up

My dodge charger 2019 sxt missing a lot of apps and options. I don’t see uconnect in touch screen in vehicle. And all other apps as well. I connected my dodge charger to the dodge app. It doesn’t have any features in the app. Such as remote start.

There are 3 different screens available and the SXT is the base uConnect4 system that doesn't have many additional features. You can technically swap into the uConnect 4c screen if you want the extra features though

My 2021 Dodger SXT Uconnect screen missing a lot of the apps like performance control, how can I reset the system or get the apps back as I have installed Z Automotive Tazer? any info will be helpful.

You can try doing a master reset through the uConnect screen to bring back to factory default settings. Other option is to go to the hidden diagnostic menu by pressing and holding the driver side up/down climate controls for 10 seconds and reset that way. Sometime tuners can cause problems but you should also be able to unmarry the Z Tazer which should reset the changes that were made

Yup.. there are some aftermarket options unless you're able to grab one from a local scrap yard

I ordered a Challenger rt plus 3/8/23 and received it May 26th, 2023. I am going on a trip June 7th. So I just went into my screen to set my way to get to Statesbourgh, GA from Augusta, Ga and to my surprise I did not see the Navigation button. Of course, I was upset. So I went to You Tube and found your video. (Navigation was something I thought was standard, they did not ask if I wanted it) I found out from you that my car does not have this feature. Is there any way I can get directions on how to go from place to place. Can you give me some of the steps through google maps or any of the ones that you mentioned. apple carplay, android auto, apple maps PS I do not own a cell phone. I hope one is not needed. Thanks. Why would they make a car without Navigation?

Hey Keith, whether or not you have navigation available will depend on how your Challenger is configured.. If you have the smaller 7" screen there's no way to add in navigation but if you have the uConnect 4c 8.4" without navigation you can purchase a software unlock to get access to it. Easiest way to do it is through your dealer.. If you have the smaller 7" screen to get factory navigation you'd need to purchase the full 8.4" assembly and have it installed or go for an aftermarket GPS instead. In order to use Google Maps or other phone map you would need to have a cellphone with an active data connection to use it...

@@CarsWithSteve Thanks for answering my question from yesterday. I waited until today to thank you because I wanted to go to the dealership first. I got up this morning and went to Waynesboro Dodge, Jeep, dealership and was told that they could not put in the navigation in my 4c 8.4-inch touch screen unless it was done at the factory. He said that he called Chrysler with my vin number and said it could not be done. Reason being they now offer google play and so on. I am now thinking about talking it to my local dealership here in Augusta, Ga. and see if they give me the same story. It is worth a try?

I'd say a phone call would be the best bet. There are some 3rd party companies who offer screens programmed with factory navigation - but you're looking $1,500 - $2,000 to get it.

For navigation from your phone it would be. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay need a USB connection to work.. But if you have factory navigation in your uConnect screen you don't need a phone for it to work

Just got a 2023 scat and the usb dont work i took it to the dealer and they say the radio is no good even though everything else is working good on the radio have you ever seen that.

@CarsWithSteve no usb will not work either. I have not tried a I phone yet I have android but the same usb I put in my friends car and it came right up on the screen car only has 612 miles

For the first three days I've owned my 392 Scat the Nav screen would come to life on starting the car. Then all of a sudden a day ago, it only comes to life is the "radio" is on. Dealer said that's how it should be! I don't enjoy remembering the mute button each time. Anyone figure out how to have the Nav screen on w/o the radio? Thank you

Could switch to a different source outside of radio so that you can have navigation going

I've had a few people mention their pages disappeared as well. The only fix I've come across is disconnecting the battery for 10 - 15 mins, reconnecting and then give it some time.

I wanted to buy a used V6 but I don't know why dodge didn't upgrade their screens at least a bit Even some of their 2024 sport cars using same 6 years ago screens and being honest why? But there are after market screens for like 400$ that look much better and have tons of features and interact with car computer That's an option I guess people can always pay little money and upgrade it These cars selling for good price in Canada used with low kms I just never had dodge so not sure how is reliability with this car I'm worried But I really like this car and for the price I can't even get a kia close to what this car offers so it is really good deal and a car I just don't know much about dodge or ford reliability and mechanically I always had vw and Honda civic

I was surprised when they decided not to upgrade for so long as well but it's getting all new tech in the newer 2025 model. They probably held off because of the upcoming redesign. There aren't a ton of NHTSA complaints on reliability for older models (2019 - 2023) but like most cars there are still some. Earlier models were on par complaint wise with the Mustang but way better rated than the Camaro. The Civic has always been incredibly reliable but if you can find a newer Charger or a used one with service records, it could be a fun summer car!

Navigation isn't standard in the Charger, it was an add on at time of ordering. If you want Android Auto or CarPlay you have to be hooked up over USB

The newer uConnect 5 screens in some Dodge, Ram and Jeep cars/trucks have wireless but the older system is only USB

I have a 2023 Charger RT and it only works on direct connection by USB.. Super disappointed at that aspect, but the performance pages are money and I deal with it.
